IIIT Bangalore will conduct Live Online Round 1 counselling for BTech and Integrated MTech 2026 admissions on July 13. Selected candidates must report at the campus on July 16. Seat allocation follows the Best JEE Rank system.

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) has issued the counselling schedule for 2026 admissions. The institute will conduct Round 1 live online counselling on July 13, 2026, covering BTech and Integrated MTech (IMTech) programmes.
Selected candidates must report at the IIITB campus on July 16, 2026. All eligible applicants from the 2026 admission cycle can participate in the round. IIITB published the update on its official website at iiitb.ac.in.
IIITB released its earlier cutoff lists between June 12 and July 3, 2026. Round 1 counselling will now be conducted in live online mode, allowing applicants to participate in the seat allocation process without travelling to Bangalore.

How Does the IIITB Live Online Round Work?
The Live Online Round will be conducted through an online meeting hosted by IIITB. Candidates can join from home without visiting the campus in person. Seat allocation will take place live during the same meeting.
The institute follows a preference-based sliding process during the round. Candidates are automatically moved to a higher preferred programme when a seat becomes available.
The programme preference order submitted in the application form determines the sliding process. These preferences cannot be changed or overwritten later.
Seats will be allotted based on the applicant’s Best JEE Rank (BJR) and programme preferences. Candidates who receive an allotment must accept the seat and pay the required admission fee.

IIITB 2026 Seat Matrix for BTech and IMTech
IIITB offers three BTech programmes and two Integrated MTech programmes for the 2026 admission cycle.
| Programme | Seats |
|---|---|
| BTech Computer Science and Engineering | 120 |
| BTech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science | 90 |
| BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering | 30 |
| Integrated MTech Computer Science and Engineering | 60 |
| Integrated MTech Electronics and Communication Engineering | 60 |
Up to five seats across all programmes may be offered to Olympiad students. These seats are reserved for candidates who have participated in the IMOTC or IOITC training camps.
What Is the Best JEE Rank at IIITB?
IIITB uses a single admission rank known as the Best JEE Rank (BJR). The BJR considers the better rank between a candidate’s JEE Main Common Rank List (CRL) and JEE Advanced CRL, where applicable.
Applicants must enter both ranks in the application form. When only a JEE Main rank is provided, that rank is treated as the BJR.
This system allows candidates with a stronger performance in either JEE Main or JEE Advanced to be considered using their better rank.
