IIT Delhi PhD and MS Admission 2023 Registration Deadline Extended till October 31; Interview from December 1 to 12

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has extended the registration deadline for admission to PhD and MS programs for Semester 2. Candidates now have till October 31, 2023 , to complete their online application and pay the application fee, with submissions accepted until 4 PM on the same day.

The IIT Delhi PhD and MS admission process involves a series of tests and interviews scheduled from December 1 to December 12, 2023, to evaluate prospective students for admission. 

The institute has announced that the new student orientation and registration are scheduled to be held on December 30, 2023, and the master's and PhD programs will commence on January 1, 2024.

To enroll in a PhD program, candidates should hold an ME/MTech/MS/MD/MDes degree or its equivalent. Additionally, individuals with a BTech/BE, MSc/MA/MBA/MBBS qualification may apply, provided they possess a minimum of one year of professional experience.

Admission into the PhD programs typically involves an interview of eligible candidates, conducted by the respective Department/Centre/School. The interview process may be facilitated by the Department Research Committee (DRC), Centre Research Committee (CRC), or School Research Committee (SRC).

Furthermore, the DRC/CRC/SRC may choose to incorporate a written test, multiple interviews, or alternative assessment methods to evaluate the candidates.

Typically, PhD programs are announced in March and October annually, with tests and interviews taking place in May and December. Moreover, it's important to note that admission to the PhD program is feasible at any point during the year. Applications are processed, and candidates are interviewed by the relevant DRC/CRC/SRC committees, allowing PhD scholars to commence their studies at any time of the year.
