Maharashtra State Board yet to Announce Supplementary Examination Dates for SSC and HSC Students

Maharashtra State Education Board (MSEB) has not announced the scheduled date of supplementary examination for class 10th and 12th. Students who have failed the examination are waiting for the announcement of the dates. 

It has been 3 months since MSEB announced the SSC and HSC result but has not announced the dates of a supplementary examination.

Every year, MSEB conducts supplementary examinations for those students who failed the SSC and HSC examination. Supplementary examinations are conducted in July every year so that students are able to attend the college in the same academic year. 

However, this year results of the main exam came in July and August due to Covid-19 pandemic but there is no mention of a supplementary examination.

The board said in a statement, “We are yet to decide whether this year exams can be conducted or not”. 

However in a letter sent to secretaries of all divisional boards, the MSEB has suggested conducting the examination between October 6 to October 23, 2020 and supplementary examination for class 12th was expected to be held from October 6 to October 29, 2020.

The state board has not confirmed either of the proposed dates and therefore, the future of students is uncertain. Students who failed the examination have urged the board to conduct the examination as soon as possible so that they can apply for admission in colleges.

This year, approximately 2 lakhs students failed in the SSC and HSC examination. At present, the State Education Board is not responding to the texts and calls of the concerned students or parents.
