September 29, 2020: Odisha Government has decided to conduct "Radio Pathashala" for students of classes 1st to 8th in the state. The classes will be held from September 28, between Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 10:15 am.

The Education Minister said, " A student could cover six pages of his textbook within 15 minutes of the radio program. Though teaching through radio would not be effective as it could have been in the physical classroom, the extraordinary situation has forced us to try different methods for reaching students".
Over 30 lakh students in Odisha were unable to access online education due to the unavailability of digital infrastructure. Some of the schools in the states took other alternatives due to the low internet connectivity issue and lack of necessary devices to attend classes.
The state government used the televisions and radios as a major mode of conducting classes for students while continuing with online classes. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the school syllabus has also been reduced by 30%.
