WB JECA 2026 Counselling Round 1 Registration Begins; Check Steps to Fill Choices

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has opened Round 1 registration and choice filling for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Computer Applications (JECA) 2026 counselling. Eligible candidates can now register on the official portal at wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca. The counselling covers admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes across participating institutes in West Bengal for the 2026-27 academic session.

Candidates who appeared in JECA 2026 and hold a valid rank card are eligible to take part. The entire process is being conducted online. It includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, payment of the seat acceptance fee and provisional admission at the allotted institute.

WB JECA 2026 Counselling Schedule

The board has notified the counselling schedule and process guidelines through its official notification. Candidates can access the notification directly on the WBJEEB portal.

Who Is Eligible to Participate?

Only candidates who appeared in JECA 2026 and secured a valid rank are permitted to register. Candidates must have their JECA 2026 application number, roll number and date of birth ready. These credentials are needed to log in to the counselling portal.

Reserved category and Person with Disability (PwD) candidates must ensure their category details match the JECA 2026 application. Any mismatch may lead to rejection during document verification at the reporting stage.

How to Register and Fill Choices for WB JECA 2026 Counselling?

The registration and choice-filling process runs on a single dashboard. Candidates should complete each step in the correct sequence before the window closes.

1. Visit the official portal at wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca.
2. Click on the link for JECA 2026 Counselling Registration.
3. Log in using the JECA 2026 application number, password and security PIN.
4. Complete the registration form and verify personal details.
5. Pay the non-refundable registration fee of Rs 500 online.
6. Fill and reorder college and course choices in order of preference.
7. Lock the choices before the deadline and download the confirmation page.

Payment can be made through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. Candidates are advised to keep a printed copy of the locked choice list for future reference.

What Happens After Choice Filling?

Once the choice-filling window closes, WBJEEB will process seat allotment based on rank, category and locked preferences. Candidates who receive a seat must pay the seat acceptance fee within the notified deadline. Failure to accept the seat within the window will forfeit the allotment.

Allotted candidates will then need to complete document verification and provisional admission at the allotted institute. Physical reporting instructions will be issued along with the allotment result.
