Remarks

The positive about the college includes the location of college, faculties, overall development of a student, placements, helping nature of everyone. The negative about the College is that it keeps constructing new building by cutting down all the greenery around. It's very less greenery compared to other Colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is pretty good but few things what we learn are outdated and company doesn't uses it at all. But the good thing is that they are regularly updating the curriculum and hence our juniors are learning new things which are really helpful in industry perspective. The exam structure is pretty simple like we have 2 things - CIE (Continuous Internal Evaluation) in which they take small small component test, quiz or give small projects, internals which is of 30 marks, other things are for 20 marks and SEE (Semester End Examination) which is of 100 marks and is scaled down to 50 marks. So 50 in CIE and 50 in SEE combined gives us our final grade.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements for Computer Science and Information Science is excellent. Almost 90% of people gets job offer in these 2 branches and the average package is 5-6 lpa. For other branches, the placement is okay type and the average package is 3-4 lpa. More than 200 companies visits every year which includes companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, VMWARE, Adobe etc. There are also internship opportunities from companies like Samsung, Cisco etc which our faculties helps us in getting. I am recently placed in Nuclei (a start-up company) with a package of 20 lpa and a stipend of 20000 during 6 months internship.

College Events

4

We have numerous clubs in our college like NSS, IEEE, EDC, GDG, ADG, DECA, theatrix and many dance clubs. All this clubs keeps organising events all around the year. Some of the important events includes: 1. Blood donation camp by NSS - Students, faculties and outside people come and donate blood to various blood bank which comes to our college. 2. Aavishkaar and WIE by IEEE - This 2 are the technical fest which includes many technical events. WIE is celebrated on women's day to empower women's to come forward. 3. Workshop by GDG and ADG - GDG is Google developer group and ADG is Apple developer group. These 2 clubs organises various workshops in college which is beneficial for students. 4. Udbhav by DECA - This is the annual fest of Ramaiah organisation by department of extracurricular activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are 2 categories of fee structure: 1. Comedk - This is for students taking admission from outside Karnataka and their fee structure is around 1,82,000? per year. 2. CET - This is only for people staying in Karnataka and their fee structure is only some 50,000? per year. So yeah there is a big diversity in fee structure but it's comparable to other engineering Colleges also who has same fee structure as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no scholarship for students entering through Comedk. People who are from Air force or defence get some scholarship. Also people who are from Karnataka can avail some scholarship. People from Nepal get scholarship from government.

Campus Life

3

There are many extracurricular activities happening all around the year in college by NSS and DECA people in which students can participate actively. There are many labs in College with 3-4 labs given to each department of college and they are pretty big with plenty of systems (around 60-70 systems) in each lab with advanced technologies. We also have labs from SAP, IBM and Apple. There is a big ground of our college but it's outside the college campus. Various sports like hockey, cricket and football is played by boys and girls and they represent our college in various inter-college challenges. Sports day is also organised.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 2 separate hostels - first is only for freshers costing around 80000 Rs per year including mess food for 4 times a day. The room are pretty big and has study table, chair and cupboard. The washroom is common but still it's very clean. There is security services available 24*7. The other one is for 2nd, 3rd and 4th years which costs different for different categories of room ranging from 65000Rs - 80000 Rs per including mess and other facilities. In this the rooms are little small but it's spacious enough.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a strong network with alumni in our college. Some departments organises talks with seniors every Friday so that it can be beneficial for the students. Also there is alumni meet every year organised by our college where all passed out students of any year come and share their thoughts, have lunch and enjoy. Our seniors are very helpful in all aspects.

Admission

I got admission through Comedk examination which is held throughout India to fill seats of engineering colleges in Karnataka. The test was for 3 hours on physics, chemistry and maths. It had 180 questions. I got 132 marks and my rank was 998. There was a counselling where we need to go and select the college we want and the process takes 1 whole day with 50000 to be deposited there itself in the form of demand draft. There are many good colleges which are top ranked in India.

Faculty

4

The faculties are really knowledgeable and most of them have completed their PhD also. They have good theoretical knowledge and they are very friendly in the sense they motivate us to do new things, help us in projects or research. They also motivate us to participate in various activities happening. They arrange seminars and other stuffs which are related to subject and is highly beneficial.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
