Remarks

The only negative thing that stops this college from advancing is the rude and egoistic faculty that doesnt even care to listen to students. If this gets fixed, all the other problems will vanish. On positive side, facilities and opportunities provided by college are endless and students can explore these for the physical and mental growth.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The Course Curriculum is something which is really outdated. Even the faculty agrees with the same as the subjects being taught have neither any practical application or are enough for the jobs demanding good knowledge of the stream. With the increase in technology, the syllabus lags into usage of latest softwares which have become the Industry Standard. Neither the syllabus is well enough designed to help students prepare for GATE.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are great. The placement cell of the college works really hard for the students to get the best offers. But the internships lack a lot for Civil Department. Most of the companies of civil dont offer internships as the students cant even get the flavour of the work they will be doing in the period of 6 months. Overall the median stipends offered are somewhat in the vicinity of 30,000 per month.

College Events

5

The college is famous for its Events. Annually PECFEST is conducted with a footfall of 50,000. Other events conducted include MUN's and Technical Fest of the college. Technical Fests are organised by the Technical Societies, while the Cultural Fest aka PECFEST is organized by all of them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is pretty reasonable. The overall fee for 4 year B.Tech Program sums to approximately 5 Lacs. Semester fees is nearly 60,000 per semester and all the facilities are provided within this amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government college, the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), and Reserved Categories are offered Fee concessions. Apart from this the top rankers of every batch are also offered 100% fee concession, which is funded by PECOSA, or the PEC old student association.

Campus Life

3

Extracurricular Activities are really well offered. Labs are well made and regular maintenance and upgradation of equipment and tools can be seen. Sport Facilities include a Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Tennis, Badminton and Basketball Courts, Swimming Pools which are all well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No, I havent opted Hostels but the hostel infrastructure is improving. Facilities provided include WIFI, Geysers, Washing Machines, etc. Some hostels are really well made, while others are really old and require urgent repairs.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Network is really helpful. I tried connecting to a few on LinkedIn for some general doubts and they were really helpful. Senior Students are also great for the piece of advice one needs in Academic or Co-curricular Fronts.

Admission

The admission was based on the ranks of the JEE-Mains Exam conducted each year for admission in B.Tech Streams. For M.Tech Streams, GATE Examination Score is considered. The admission process for B.Tech is undertaken on the Josaa Portal.

Faculty

1.5

Faculty for the Civil Department is famous for being the worst faculty of the college. Professors here are mostly in their old age and have served for a long time, and have way too much ego. The current Head of Department is someone you wont want to even see in your dreams, talking to him is extremely difficult. Faculty doesn't listen to students and hence ignore the demands for change in the syllabus. The younger faculty is way too new to have extremely good knowledge of the subjects. Hence if you really want to study the subjects, the only option is to take Online Courses or Tuitions.

Placement do occur in the college. It's average package is around 7.5, lakh. Since I am the first year right now, I don't have data to support the placement record, but some of my seniors of fourth year are getting placed. One of my IT senior got placed for 14 LPA and other other, my Cse senior got placed for around 12 LPA. so opportunities are there for those who want to do something
