Remarks

It's quite a renowned college in Kolkata. It had a prestigious history. It is named after the great Sir Asutosh Mukherjee though the quality of study and the atmosphere degrade over the years, it is still one of the very good colleges in the city.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It's a fairly tough 3 year course at our time we used to have yearly reacquired examminations but now the curriculum has changed and semester based model has introduced in the year 2018. The college is under Calcutta university.

Placement Experience

1.5

In chemistry there is actually none. you have to either go for higher studies and seat for the examinations to get the govt jobs. depending on the preference and the need a student can choose any one of it. about the internship, the does not provide any. but there are various govt sponsored scholarship available after 12th.a student having a good academic record can apply for those.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very reasonable and is very nominal. average fees for a year is around 20000 rupees which is very normal in nowadays. A good college for a student coming from a middle class Indian family.

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't offer any scholarship or loan facility. to be very honest your don't need to take any loan to study to this college.the cost to study ratio is very small here and you can easily avail that.

Campus Life

3

There are various extracurricular activities to take part during the college days. depending on your preference your can participate in sports, drama, music, recitation. even politics can be very good option in this college.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel facility is nothings to brag about. there is only one boys hostel and same is for the girls. hostel quality is very bad. someone wants to study in this college is expected to rent a room outside the hostel premises and stay there.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are quite helpful. they help in doing their regular college for fill your, fees payments, even financial problems can be discussed with the seniors. students don't need to be afraid to ask anything to the seniors.

Admission

First you have to silly online through the portal merit list will be published on the given date. 2 or 3 counseling will take place based on the number of student take admission during the time. there will be document verification followed by all the legal procedure that is regularly done at every other institute. classes will start a month later to the admission.

Faculty

3

Faculties are quite ok. there is deficiency of professors to students ratio. the faculties are well educated and are of good behaviour. they help students during practicals. classes are not regular though due to the lack of faculties.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
