Remarks
The most positive thing about my college is the placements and infrastructure, talking about the negatives some people in the authorities are not efficient in their work and often do not behave well with the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well structured here in KIIT, they give importance to theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Normally in a semester we have somewhere around 4 to 6 theory subjects with 2 to 3 labs. They also include new subjects in their curriculum to keep pace with the recent technological developments.
Placement Experience
Placements are the center of attraction of our college, normally every student gets placed till the end of the final academic year.Also there are many students who attain more than one job offer. Yes. Our college organizes internship summits in which more than 100 companies visit our college and pick students for internship. I also had an internship in TATA STEEL limited, and i am currently placed in an IT firm with a good package, normally the average package here is 4.5LPA.
College Events
The college emphasizes on the entertainment of students and hence organizes fests once in a quarter of an year. Also every festival is celebrated with pomp and show keeping diversity of students in mind.Some of the fests include KIIT fest, imdf which is a music fest, kritarth which is a fest of medical students,KIIT MUN which is a model united nation competition and many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of our college is slightly on the expensive side, but that is okay keeping the placement scenario in mind. Also the infrastructure is excellent, all the classrooms are equipped with AC and projectors with E-learning applications.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides special scholarships and fee waivers to students excelling in the academics. Also they have easy loan facility which can be availed at any time from the time of counseling.My classmate was a state topper and he was awarded a 5 digit fee waiver of every month.
Campus Life
The college is very supportive in terms of extra curricular activities, we also have a separate wing in our college known as ksac(KIIT Student activity centre) which takes care about the growth of students in fields of sports ,arts and provide counseling support as well.Our college spends a good amount of funds in extra curricular activities and also awards students who excel in such fields.The students taking part in such are also awarded extra attendance and classes to compensate for the loss in academics incurred during the activity duration.
Hostel Facilities
Most of the students in our college live in hostels which can give you the insight of how well the infrastructure and and facilities of the hostel happen to be. The food quality in the mess is excellent ,there are many variations in the menu.They also provide you special food if you are on a diet or sick.The hostels are equipped with high speed broadband internet, study rooms with AC ,Water coolers ,24 hours water and electricity and the maids also clean the rooms daily.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumi and seniors here are very helpful in terms of academics as they provide information about how to deal with the subjects and how to score well in the exams.They are the ones whom we approach when we need some personal or academic advice.We refer them as our Didi (Big sister) and Bhaiya( Big brother) rather than calling them Seniors, this shows how much we love our seniors.
Admission
Admission in KIIT is through their entrance exam known as "KIITEE". I got admitted in the college through the same, the exam was well structured with questions from moderate to difficult level. All the verifications were done through biometrics so that no one else could attend the exam in place of the actual candidate.
Faculty
The faculty of our college are very learned ,they usually are from IIT's and NIT's ,some faculty members are former scientists.They are very learned and helpful in nature ,they provide us with extra knowledge as well rather than just completing the course.During the final year they mentor students and help them in making real life projects that can be helpful during the placements.
