Remarks

College penalty system is very bad . They ask around 1k per subject for every 5% of attendance. If one has 60% attendance in a subject then he has to pay 5k for that subject. They'll fine students for everything. Boys shouldn't wear round neck t-shirt, torn jeans etc . If they do they'll be charged .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is not relevant to present field requirement. It's basically outdated (vtu). We study the same things which was studied 10 years ago . Course structure doesn't get updated with time . It takes forever to change the portions.

Placement Experience

3.5

There's is mass recruitment in this college . I don't think there's any placement opportunities for civil grads . But recently the companies like Accenture, Infosys etc had a mass recruitment program in SJBIT .

College Events

0.5

As big the institution is, the events are underrated . The events are not fun. It's boring . Lecturers doesn't encourage us to participate in fests, college day celebration and all . They'll go on telling that attendance is important than celebrating fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

CET fee structure is reasonable. Comedk fee structure is costly . Management quota depends on the college management. It's not the same for everyone . Fee structure varies for management quota , but it's very very costly around 2 lakh per year , and hostel charges 90k per year and it's not worthy at all.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn't provide any scholarship unless one is topper of the college. Students get scholarship from government . The government scholarship is not good either , the general category students doesn't get good scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

Labs are good . Well equipped. But sports suck . Our PT is of no use . They don't encourage sports in this college. Just for the sake of publicity there's sports grounds and all , but every sports material has to be bought by students itself , we won't get any help from college side .

Hostel Facilities

0.5

I'm hosteler. SJB hostel is not good at all. We pay 90k per year . The food is rarely good . All the food is prepared by rice and potatoes, god that's a lot of carbs for youngsters . There's no network inside hostel building . And we don't even have stable WiFi networks. Sjb hostel life sucks to the core .

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are . There's a aluminj association too . Seniors are friendly. moreover they mind their own business. College grinds up students so hard that they'll not have interest in ragging juniors . Students are fed of the schedule they'll be waiting for the college to get over so they can go home and take rest .

Admission

I was forced to choose the course by my parents I had no other choice. In CET I got seat in Acharya institute of technology. But my parents didn't want me to persue automobile engineering as a career . So they forced me into civil and paid for a seat in this college

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is well qualified and experienced. Study materials are provided. But doesn't go deeper than what is required by vtu. Packed schedule. Lecturers are very strict and a little friendly . Totally efficient staff team .

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
