Remarks

Our college is amazing. It is free from city noise asd is situated in a sceneric and beautiful area. College infrastructure and management is great. I don't have a single bad comment or review about my college. My all needs are fulfilled in this college.

Entrance Preview

I appeared in JEE mains and got 51 points. I opt for this college because of its faculty, infrastructure, placements and beauty to greater extent also. I choosed BTech. Over other because I feel comfortable in this one. I have great hold over subjects like Maths,Physics,Electronics etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Our college offers courses like BTech (CE, ME, CSE, ECE), BArch., B.A, MBA and Polytechnic. Faculty of every section is well qualified and well experienced. They fulfill all requirements we need.

Internships Opportunities

The college is on 3rd rank in placement to the university affilated to. Well known companies come her to pick up students sutable for their company. Companies like TATA,HCL,HP,Netmax etc. come here.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and job oppurtunities are great. Almost placements 2 times in a month. Placements occur more in ECE and CSE department. Companies offer a minimum package of 4.50 lacs per year. Companies like HCL, Netmax etc.

College Events

3

Whenever a festival is there, it is always big in our college. Annual day, freshers (Lamhe), Raksha Bandhan, Independence day, Republic day, Holi, Diwali and sports events are done in college. I took participation in sports, Speeches, Group Discussions and top of all Quiz which is also held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is feasible. With respect to other college our colleges have less (feasible and helping one). Its almost 1.20lacs per year (college+hostel).

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarship on merit basis. I am also on scholarship. But i am via Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).

Campus Life

5

Our college has co-education system. But boys are more than girls in number but difference is not that much. Our college contains students from societies like Sikhs, Brahmins, Muslims, Christians (not much). Our college has got no problem with race, ethinicity, culture etc. It accepts all students except undisciplined. Our college is strict in cases like raging, fights etc. Consequences would be fine or expulsion from college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel is also great. Rooms are sharing and contain space more than required. Every person in room has got individually a chair, Desk, a bed, a cupboard. Room contains 2 lights, 2 fans and 1 cooler also.

Alumni/Alumna

I have had great and respectful interaction with my seniors. I learnt some useful points from them. They make our college experiences easy. They teach us much about college life which we need the most. They share their experience with the faculty members. They tell us some key facts about the subjects and courses.

Exam Structure

Best of all in this college is its Labs whether they are applied science, computer labs, thermodynamic labs or electronics labs. They are well maintained. They leave a person surprised.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Landran, Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Nov 24, 2025(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
