Remarks

As the in institute is located at a hill. The scenery are beautiful here. The maountains are mesmerizing. We have a waterfall nearby. The institute is also located in a pollution free and noise free zone.

Course Curriculum Overview

As it is the Institute of National Importance, the course is independently selected yet the similar to able to crack another competitive exam GATE. We have 2 minor exam, 1 mid sem and the final sem exam for each course in a single semester.

Placement Experience

The Computer Science and Engineering department have a record every year for getting 100% placements with an average of 12 lpa and a highest of 16 lpa. The other branches have also a record placements of about 80-90%.

College Events

Various festivals and national days are very well celebrated here. Hindi Saptah, Laxmi pooja, Vigilance Awareness week, Unity day and many more. The annual Techno-cultural event 'Saavyas' is the most awaited event of the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is similar to other Nit system. Not too high as private institutes not too low. It varies around 63k - 77k per semester. The hostel fees are around 30k per semester. Not too high not too low.

Fees and Financial Aid

Like other Nit system, we have the "Full tution fees waiver scheme" for the ones whose parent's income is less than 1 lacs per annum. Also we have the "2/3 tution fee waiver scheme" for the ones whose parent's income is less than 5 lacs per annum.

Campus Life

The institution provides various outdoor and indoor sports facilities such as Table Tennis, chess, carrom, cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, basketball and many other. We have clubs respective for their branches.

Hostel Facilities

The Hostel rooms are spacious but they are 3-4 seated for boys and 1-2 seated for girls. There are various blocks available. Due to limited seats, they are available for the ones who doesn't belong to Goa.

External Expense: Rs. 2000 - Rs. 4000

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful. The institute is recognised for its " Ragging free campus". They organise everything very well. They are very friendly, kind, good and smart as well. They always inspire us a lot.

Admission

You have to clear one the most difficult exam of India - JEE Mains to get here. Not a very high rank is needed to get into. But ya, it depends on the Other State/Home state quota rank. Also you must clear your Higher Secondary School Certificate/Pre University/10+2, whatever you say.

Faculty

Mostly the faculty are well trained, educated, and have gained their Phd from well recognised institutes of the country. Their teaching strategies are easily digestable. Overall they are friendly, good and kind.

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

The only thing that I like about the college is the environment the college is built in nothing else

Everything from the infrastructure to the campus to the faculty to basic facilities everything

The course same to be around 50 years old and which is not updated we as students studying bachelors in engineering need new updates in our courses every year so that we know what is new in the market

Likes

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

I myself wanted to bebin this course as it has bright scope. It is very attractive in real world. the area needed to be cleaned and well maintained and hygiened as well. And the class timing are not good enough . They keep classes as they want.

Likes

The campus is good, lots of air and good weather. Good facilities, decent food spots around and faculties are also good mostly. Masters courses are available in some departments.

Dislikes

There are cows roaming around as well as dogs so there is a lot of rubbish on the roads. The college is situated on a hill so getting there is a challenge for bus travellers, Canteen is horrible, so is the workshop. Security is non existent.
Anyone can come during college hours and even kill you and nobody will do anything.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

Likes

The campus is new and in hostel one room for one person and the room is really good , we have everything which you need in a room enough lights fan a good cupboard
70 percent of the campus (other than boys hostel) looks nice ..they have greenery , a smol park like area in front of girls hostel and and good classrooms , professors are okaish

Dislikes

Many times hostel water tank gets empty ..so no water not even for drinking for hours and electricity went sometimes not much and one big problem is the internet inside the hostel , outside our hostel network comes but inside no signal
They have a wifi which don't work well and not much range of it ,it's a big problem we face everyday . The food is not good , below then avarage it got degraded since we came to new campus . It's been a year in this new campus
Only one basket ball and vollyball court for sports , no ground ,nothing . There is one ground in front of boys hostel where no grass only needle like rocks if you fall your bone will be cracked and , recently they started to let sevagewater out init

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too

Remarks:

I won't say as positive or negative but overall it's average in terms of everything campus facilities and every event that has been organised in our college. Also for faculties they are average in teaching.

NIT goa

I was getting MBM jodhpur I got something with related to computer science which was really good branch there and it's a really good state college of rajsthan but I choose nitg because I like mechanical more and I was getting this in a NIT. So I went for it and it's okaish here .. placement is not that great but have to work so hard to get one . Visiting the interiors!

I gave jee mains in 2021 and got 95 percentile and got NIT Goa. This may sound genuine as an admission process, but it is not. This is because of reservation of home state students. In my class, there are students who even don't have 90 percentile. And not only this, more than 50% population is from Goa in the college.
