Remarks

My college is good from all point of view except infrastructure. It's nirf ranking is 74. This is also because of infrastructure. My college has very less hostel. So students from other state have to live outside campus. Which increases the expenses. Otherwise academics, researches, internships, placements etc. Everything is very good here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is not so good according to me. I study in NIT. And here we do not get culture like IITs. Here course is designed to focus more on theory. Not more on any research related things. Secondly, many modifications came in today's machines but we are still learning the working of machines made in 1960s.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement opportunity is good but not so high. For CS and IT branch it is above 90% and for other branches it is above 80%. For my branch, metallurgy it is 50%. Average package offered for CS and IT branches are approx. 11. 5 LPA and for my branch it is approx. 6. 5 LPA. Our college provide internships but only with in country. If anyone wants to do foreign intern, he/she have to apply on their own. I have done a training in one PSU I. e in CIL. But I have done this on my own because our college provide internships in 3rd year and I am in 2nd year. Well the stipend varies from 10k to 20k.

College Events

4.5

We celebrate almost every event. We have commiities like Innovation cell for technical events, Entrepreneurship cell for business related events, Cultural committee for events like Independence Day, republic day, diwali, holi etc. Celebrations and sports committee for sports events. We have one technical fest named AAVARTAN organised by team technocracy. We have sports fest named SAMAR organised by team shaurya. We have central India's largest cultural fest named Eclectika organised by team sanskriti and cultural committee. These three are the biggest fests of our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure Fee structure is feasible. It's not expensive because it's divided into three parts on the basis of annual income of parents. For those who have family annual income above 5 lakh, they have to pay 131500 INR for one year in 1st year and 62500 INR per semester from 3rd semester. Those who have annual income above 1 lakh and below 5 lakh have to pay 48500 INR in 1st year and 21500 INR per semester from 3rd semester. Those who have family annual income below 1 lakh have to pay 6500 INR in 1st year and 4150 INR from 2nd year. Hostel fees is equal for all. Total fees of hostel with mess for 1 year is 27500 INR. In which the number of days we were absent in a year are calculated and money is returned to our bank account for mess of those days.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not as such named Scholarship is availed by our college. But students get scholarship on the basis of family annual income. Some students also avail state scholarship and some on national portal. Top 3 students of any branch in 1st year get a chance to get scholarship by Jindal. This is through college so might be counted under it.

Campus Life

3.5

This College is very good in extracurricular activities. I think this is because extracurricular activities lies in the blood of chattisgarh people. We have very good handball team and yoga team. We are winning gold medal since past 4 years in Inter NIT competition in both these games. I myself won many prizes in stand up comedy, poetry and art/craft.

Hostel Facilities

4

No I have not opted for hostel. But for first year there are very less rooms. So students are alloted rooms according to their ranks in jee. But from 2nd year students get rooms, though not so easily, SPI plays important role here. But otherwise facilities are good in hostel. Even the mess is good.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior interaction is very good in our college. No ragging kind of activities takes place here. Seniors as well as alumnis are very helpful. Whatever doubts we have in our mind related to GATE preparation, future plans, CAT, core or non core selection, or anything is solved by them spontaneously. We never need to worry.

Admission

I filled the form of JEE mains 2018. I gave offline exam on 8 april 2018. Then result came. I was qualified for jee advanced. Then after jee advanced result came out, councelling got started by JOSAA. There are 7 rounds in JOSAA through which students are allotted colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs on the basis of rank they achieved in jee mains or jee advanced. Then there were two special rounds conducted by CSAB in which students who couldn't get college in JOSAA are given chance. But IITs are not allotted through CSAB. I got college in 2nd special round of CSAB 2018. Then I came to college with required documents and paid fee receipt and after further proceedings I got admitted to college.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of our college are good. They are good nature wise as well as teaching wise. They are punctual, come to class on time. Do not waste any time. Try to teach concepts that can help us in GATE also. They treat us like family if you meet them personally. They always explain twice or thrice till you don't understand that topic totally. They also gives us notes. Only Electrical department in my college is very bad.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college pretty good for the higher branch like Cse , Ece , IT but for lower branches like ours is very low Only 5-10 students got placed last year from biotech . Whereas the placement percentage of Cse is around 90% . The highest package offered was 56 LPA , that is told us in Induction Program.

Placement Experience:

To be honest placement scenario is not really good. One becomes eligible for placement in the final year. Companies like cognizant used to visit the college for mass recruitment but after covid even they are not visiting. But few startups visit every year. The highest package this year was 12 lpa ctc. And avg 6 lpa. Only 30 percent get placement. My plan is to do M TECH.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I chose this curriculum is because I've a keen interest in computer programming. The exams aren't really hard if you know the basics and the curriculum. The Faculties are well educated but low-key outdated. Speaking of curriculum, I feel like the curriculum is super outdated and needs to be changed.

Students are eligible to sit in campus placements after or during 3rd yr in btech. Intership guidance is also provided in 2nd yr onwards . Highest package of 2023 is 33 lpa with avg. Package of 5lpa. For branch like mechanical more than 90% students are placed. My plan is to take management minor in 2nd yr. And after graduation I will either go for MBA or first get placed and continue MBA while having a job.
