Overall college review

I suggest this college aspiring for M. Tech in geotechnical engineering. It's very good be it in education or overall development. Teqip facility in college has helped students and faculty in availing financial assistance for various events participated in other colleges.

The course structure is specially designed to meet the industry demands and also to enhance the learning process of an individual. First year had 6 subjects every semester. A semester was add on in the first semester of first year. Term paper was add on in the second semester. Subjects were hectic but proper time was allotted for the students to study. In the third semester one subject is theoretical compiled with project presentation, a lab and industrial training presentation. In the final semester you need to concentrate only on project work. There are total 100 marks for each subjects in which 50 are for CIE and the rest for semester examination called as SEE. The grading system is as follows 90-100 S 80-90 A 70-80 B 60-70 C 50- 60 D There is a option in which by scoring 35 in CIE you can take the privilege of writing the exam once again in case you have failed. There are options for withdrawal of subjects before the exams.

For Post graduation no companies have come so far. In terms of internship students are encouraged to take internship outside the college be it industry or IIT. Financial assistance is provided to the students for internship through TEQIP.

All the prominent days are celebrated. Emphasis on technical talks and events is given. There are cultural events organised in the college and hostel premises. Sports competition are also organised once in a year.

It is feasible as most of the students are provided with the facility of scholarships that are encouraged by the college. The college supports the students applying for various scholarships from the government. Tution fees Rs. 65000 College fees Rs. 20000 Hostel fees Rs. 50000 This is the total fee structure for a year. All sums around 1. 5 lakhs.

I have availed the minority scholarship in the first year in which I was awarded with a sum amount of Rs. 65000 helping me bear my tution fees. The procedure was simple. I applied online in the government portal. Later submitted all the documents to the college authorities. They verified my documents. One set of documents were handed over to the district minority office which were verified. Next was the state verification. After all the procedures I was awarded the scholarship by direct bank transfer in the month of September 2019. There are loan facilities available too.

Extra curricular activities are organised once in a year by the college. Various workshops and technical events are organised to enhance our learning. Labs are well equipped. A advanced geotechnical engineering Laboratory is on the verge of completion. There is no discrimination in any form.

The college hostels are available for both boys and girls in a affordable price. Rooms are well equipped with facilities like hot water. 3 sharing rooms, beds, cupboards, tables, chairs and Wifi connection. The food timing in the hostel is very much feasible to meet students needs.

Seniors are well good. They have imparted suggestions to us to help us excel. The experience shared has helped us progress. Their projects have been guiding us in carrying out various research works. They are accessible through a single call.

First and foremost this is the best college you will find in Karnataka for geotechnical engineering apart from IISc and NITK. This drove me to choose this college located in Bagalkot district. I had appeared for post graduate common entrance test which is conducted by the Karnataka government. This helped me secure a seat in General merit category with a ranking of 3000 in Karnataka.

The faculty are best in terms of teaching experience and enthusiasm towards teaching. There are site visits organised by the faculty to help us gain field exposure. Use of NPTEL lectures is encouraged for students. Extra activities are organised for overall growth.
