Remarks

Positive points about my college is that academics. Even a guy bad at studies can study well in this college. Its only because of the exam structure. The negative point about my college is that they just do spoon feeding. Self learning is not an option. They teach us all the syllabus. No self learning.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was nice but the exam structure was too difficult. Internal tests would be conducted frequently. It itself would be a big hectoc. Then comes the lab where the lab work records should be completed the next day or within 2 days.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement for every department is good except for mechanical. Till now only one core company came for mechanical and I got placed in that company. That too low salary package. Other than mechanical CSE and IT students are getting a lot of opportunities. ECE EEE also getting chances.

College Events

2.5

Legacy is the inter college cultural fest which will be conducted every year in the month of august. About students from different colleges come and participate. Gyanmitra is the inter college technical symposium which will be held in yhe months of feb. In the fests about students from 50 - 100 colleges participate. Every festival conducted here is national level competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tution fee for a year is about ?100000. The hostel fee per annum is about ?65000. Actually speaking it is feasible for hostel fees but tution fees is too high to say. The main tution fee includes exam fee, health checkup, smart class, sports, lab usage etc. Tution can be reduced.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total scholarship amount provided by our college each year would be around 2 crores for all students staffs research scholars. I am getting scholarship every year about ?15000 for getting cgpa above 8.5. Scholarship amount varies for students getting marks of different f range.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is balanced thourought out the college. No parties should be conducted in hostels. If conducted fine will be given as reward. Fine amonut would be as of gold price. There is no problem in gender, race, religion, caste oriented problems. Sports is somewat good but not upto mark. They support us. Labs are well equipped.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are about 10 hostels. 5 for boys and 5 for girls. There are different kinds of rooms such as 4 sharing 2 sharing 5 sharing and single rooms. Phone ipod Bluetooth speakers wifi dongle are not allowed in hostel. Laptop is the only electronic gadget that is been allowd in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

I dont know anything about alumni network thats happening in my college. As there is no such strong network. Alumni network is just for creating reunions as of my knowledge. But while I am studying 1 and 2 years my seniora played important role. They guide us in a good way by supporting us in every aspects such as studies, placements, culturals, sports.

Admission

I got admission in my college thourough Anna University counselling which will be held based on the scores obtained by students in class 12. I chose mechanical engineering course in mepco college because I was interested. I like mechanical engineering.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are neither too excellent nor too bad. They are in the moderate level. About 10 staffs in mechanical department have completed PhD. They teach very well and rest of staffs have just completed their pg courses.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
