I'm here for the last 7 months and from my experience I didn't found any negative remarks for this college. Everything seems to be better here as a government engineering college. It has a better infrastructure to promote all the student activities.
Our college comes under KTU's thourissur cluster. The curriculum is very hectic during even semesters as we almost get only four months in a semester. And also we have to study about 6 modules in all subjects.
Placements and job opportunities are higher here while compared to other colleges. They provide better placement training also to the students to make them capable to crack the interviews easily. So my overall experience is really good.
One of major event celebrated here is Dyuthi which is a national level multi fest organised by the college union every year. It holds many competitions, which is both technical and cultural. Cultural events are also organized.
The tuition fees for a semester is only 6300. Exam fee for the first to third semester is 1500 and in fourth semester is 2000. At the time of admission we need to pay some extra amount as caution deposit, PTA fund, bus fund, admission fees etc.
For GATE qualified students there is a monthly stipend of Rs 12400 provided by aicte. Other students can apply for other scholarship schemes based on their income and caste reservations. And the amount they get will vary.
There are so many extracurricular activities organized by the university and also by the students union of our college. They are capable to provide more exposure to the students. University also promote students to participate in these activities by giving extra points.
College has government hostels for girls and boys. The fee here is cheaper while considering the private hostel. But there is only few seats for post graduate students. So now I'm staying in a private hostel and need to pay 4500 per month.
The alumni network is very active in our college. They have so many contributions on the infrastructure and development of the college. They also helps in the placement activities of the college. Many of them are in good positions.
I got admission here thourough GATE 2019 exam. My score was 333. Students without GATE can also apply for admission based on their graduation marks. But will be considered only after GATE qualified students.
Well qualified faculties are available our college for proper mentoring of the students. Most of them are Mtech holders and some of them have doctorates too. They are well experienced in teaching field.
The most important factor is the excellent placement. Also the faculty is so good, which helps you to understand the subjects deeply. The college provides excellent lab facilities. It will be a great exposure for students.
All the IT and semiconductor industries are coming to the college for placements. Over 200 companies are coming for placements. The alumni is a main factor for getting placed.
MCAP central allotment process provided by the Kerala government, the brochure is available in DTE's site and GATE should be qualified and the admission is purely based on merit and the 1st chance is given to gate qualified fellows and next for non gate.
I got admission through the entrance exam conducted by the college. The entrance exam was conducted on 10th December 2010. More than 100 students appeared for the test and only 24 got selected. RSET also support students having GATE. We are the first postgraduate students of the college. Our course started on 23 rd December 2010.
Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of engineering, physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. To get admission you should be a graduate in b.Tech with at least 45% marks. You will be selected on the basis of merit.
The institution provides with great opportunities to its students. There are internship for its students to grow. They also provide with jobs and placements. Many firms come and recruit the students. Many students take part in the placement programme.
