Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure in my college is pretty relaxed compared to the other colleges in Bangalore. There are two labs each week of the subjects that practicals had to be done in that semester. If the student is interested in doing more labs then he/she may do with permission from the concerned faculty. Exams are generally conducted once a month. Some days are hectic and some days are pretty chill out depending on the timetable of that particular day.

Placement Experience

4

The college is good at placement and for job opportunities. Around 140 companies visit BIT to recruit students. The college has its own placement and training cell. There are fewer internship opportunities in the college, generally, the student applies to companies and other colleges for internships.

College Events

3.5

"MANTHAN" is the college fest which is held every year. Around 7000 people participate in the college fest. The college fest includes a lot of events such as music concerts, DJ nights, hackathons, and many more interesting events. Kabbadi, trekking, mini cricket, go green and many other events are organized by the different clubs in BIT.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very low for those students who get admitted through K-CET. The fee for a student coming from outside the state is quite high, making it an expensive college. Around 2 lacs for the students coming from another state and 26000 for students of Karnataka.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does provide scholarships to students whose parents are in defense jobs. The other scholarships are provided by the government and you have to fill the form for that and if you are eligible, you will get the scholarship amount.

Campus Life

1.5

Gender ratios in the college are quite good. The boy's hostel sometimes holds a party once a year. The college has a cultural club and student here are from different states of India, which make it quite diverse. There is a women cell for tolerance regards to gender ethnicity, Race, Religion, Sexual orientation, Politics, and economic status.

Hostel Facilities

3

Bit men's hostel is just a few steps away from the college. It has three floors. Around 350-400 students can stay here. The fee is 100000 for the first year and 85000 for the second year. 4-sharing, 3-sharing, 2-sharing rooms are available. Each floor has common bathrooms and washrooms.

Alumni/Alumna

The college organizes annual alumni meet where the alumni share their experience and all the latest thing ongoing in the industry. It organizes a student-alumni interaction session at the college level during alumni meet.

Admission

I got admission to this college through COMED-K. The Karnataka student can get admission through K-CET also. The fees are different for the students getting admission through K-CET and comedk. After the entrance exam, there is counseling conducted for all the colleges coming under VTU. According to the rank you obtained in comedk or kcet whichever you have given, select the colleges.

Faculty

3

The faculty here are highly qualified. Some of them have completed their PhD.and some of them are pursuing it. The faculty here are quite interested in teaching the student, but sometimes a lot of matters in the student's interest. Sometimes students have to approach the teacher.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
