Reality of NITW

Positive : Good infrastructure are provided, placements opportunities are available, alumni network is strongly established, diversity. Negative : Attendence requirement (80%), few faculties are boring.

In my opinion, ECE course in our is the toughest. The professors over here give a lot of workload which is sometimes hectic. Labs are nice. Exams are subjective taken on a semester basis. Keeping negative things aside. This Course has a bright scope in the future.

Placements & job opportunities in this are very good. But as the world going around, more of software companies are companies. All the major companies gives internship and placements. Simce, the college to the industrial hub- Hyderabad. There are various companies which gives internship thourough the workshop they conduct in the college.

There are various events celebrated in the college like technical fest(Technozion), cultural fest(Springspree), TedxNITW and many more. These fests are one of the biggest in the south india. Even the outside people can participate in the competitions held in various places. But the performances are done by the college students(Club members).

It's feasible. Tuition fees(per semester) = Rs 62500 and some other basic fees. Hostel fees(per year) = 40000. Mess fees(per sem) = 15000(includes special dinner). If you are in some category, it is even low.

There are Merit Scholarships given for every year students. This Merit Scholarships are for those who haven't received any kind of fee remission from the college. There is a student loan facility provided by the State Bank of India, which is inside our college.

Gender ratio is very poor(4.5:1). There are various activities which are done over here. Gyms, playground for every sport, courts. Labs and workshops are equipped with necessary equipments. There is a lot of diversity in the students as people belong from everywhere in India. Everyone is treated equally.

The first year hostels are the best(Asia's Biggest Hostel). Can accommodate 1800 students. There are various facilities available like canteen, maggi station, prayer room, laundry, study room, ground, Table tennis tables, TV room etc.

It's one of the oldest engineering college in India due to which it has a very strong network of alumni. They are very helpful. They provide lot of various opportunities for the college students. 62 batches have passed out of the college. Different alumni does different contributions towards the betterment of the college. Seniors are quite helpful. There are batches where some ragging is done(joining these is completely out choice).

Admission in this college is obtained thourough the entrance exam - JEE MAIN. It is a bit difficult to admission in the college which also depends on the course you choose. I chose this course because I have interest in the newer innovations happening in the field. I also liked the fact this course is a culmination of software and hardware.

Faculties over here are all PhD. qualified which is a basic requirement. But it feels like the ECE faculties take out there frustration over here. The older faculties are the ones being blamed. Newer faculties are quite nice.
