Remarks

College management is very rigid and doesn't listen much to students. There are very strict rules as far as hostel students are concerned. For girls, the hostel rules are even more stringent than boys. Apart from the rules and college life, this college is good if we take just academics and placements into consideration.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is well structured and modified time to time based on the market assessment. For computer science, the coding culture is good from the first sem itself. It introduces you to the coding world. The rest of the courses are designed for keeping placement as a focal point. Industrial visits are a mandatory part of the curriculum for each subject.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are very good out here and almost every student who opted for placements has secured at least one job. Almost all big IT companies have visited our campus for placements, major ones are Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon, etc. We are made to attend placement training sessions starting from the first year itself and for final year students special 3 hour sessions were arranged just before the placement session.

College Events

3

There are two annual fests in our college, Vibrance, and TechnoVIT. Vibrance is the annual cultural fest which is scheduled around February whereas TechnoVIT is the annual technical fest and is scheduled around September. Vibrance is conducted at a large scale and the budget for the event is more than 1 crore.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is expensive as compared to government colleges but it is not too exorbitant as compared to other private institutions. The fee breakdown structure is transparent and no additional fees are charged as far as the only academic fee is concerned. The hostel fee varies every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was enrolled in the 2016-2020 batch. For our batch scholarships were given to students securing under 20k rank in VITEE. For students securing rank under 10k,50k per year scholarship. For students under 20k, 25k scholarship per year. This scholarship is subject to performance once you join the college. From the second year onwards the scholarship is given to students who secured more than 8 CGPA with no backs.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is not that great as compared to other colleges. The gender is screwed as is the case with most of the engineering colleges in our country. There are more than 50 clubs in our college but the most active ones are Dramatics, dance, music and debate club. There are many cultural groups as well. There are no student unions as such.

Alumni/Alumna

There isn't much senior-junior interaction in our college. One of the major contributing factors to this is the large crowd in each batch. People don't know their batch mates properly. Most of the guidance is from peers or placement teams.

Admission

We get admission to VIT University by clearing VITEE. It is one of the top private institutions with a good placement record. That made me choose this institute. Once the result is declared, you are supposed to go for the counseling process physically. Based on the rank and availability of seat branch is allowed.

Faculty

4

For core subjects, we get around 3 lectures per week. Almost all the faculties in our college are Ph.D. degree holders. Most of them have a decent idea about the subject they are supposed to teach but on the other hand, there are teachers whose main job is just to read aloud ppt in class.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.
