Remarks

Overall the college is great. The only problem is the crowd of students which is good and bad simultaneously in different perspectives. Increases a lot of competition. More students result in more number of activities, exposure in college. College management is quite strict and it has to be if it's supposed to handle a pool of 30000 students on the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The best feature of the institution is FFCS (Fully Flexible Credit System). Using FFCS we book our course slot and course faculty, respectively. Every Course has got two Mid assessments known as CAT I (15) & II (15) (Cumulative Assessment Test) followed by FAT(Final Assessment Test) (40), also inclusive of either 2 Quiz (20) / 1 (10) Digital Assignment or 3 Quiz (30) or 3 DA (30) (depends on the faculty what he prefers). Internal includes Two CAT followed by DAs/Quizzes making a total of 60. Rest 40 belongs to FAT. It depends on the number of credits that whether a course has Project or Practical or both. Along with regular classes, we have a series of guest lectures before every assessment. Professors do have contacts with Industry Experts. During the last month of the Semester, an Industrial visit is planned. These visits and Guest Lectures enable every individual to think either for Higher Education, Internships, Research Paper Planning, Patent Registering, or placements.

Placement Experience

4

Placement Cell divides the category of Recruiting company into three categories such as Regular (CTC from 1 LPA to 4 LPA), Dream Core/Software (CTC up to 8 LPA), SuperDream Core/Software(CTC above 8 LPA). Mostly recruitment drive is dependent on the company of how they want it. But in general, it is initiated with Aptitude/Technical Tests, Group discussion followed by Technical and hour interview. I got placed in Cognizant (CTC: 4 LPA). Similarly, Internship is divided in the same category above. List of companies - Tata Power, Adani Gas, Reliance, SKF, Rishi FIBC, ITC, Tolaram, Mahindra, Bajaj, Caterpillar, TVS MotoCorp, ACC, Maruti.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It depends on the rank of the individual. The counseling management divides student admission into categories from me - VI. Category I is the merit category and in the rest, one is required to pay extra fees for admission. Hence, instead of donations, they categorize students into various categories and ask for higher fees. I find feasible till category 2. Beyond that, it is quite expensive. Also, the fee structure keeps on increasing every year for new admissions.

Fees and Financial Aid

In 2016 counseling, Scholarship was provided up to the rank of 20000. Rank 1-10k obtained a scholarship of 2 Lakhs and Rank 10001-20k obtained a scholarship of 1 Lakhs. Yes, the college provides education loans to the needy. Those students have to submit annual income proof of their family. My rank in VITEEE 2016 was 14916, so I obtained a scholarship of 1 Lakh.

Campus Life

4

The Gender Ratio is 3:1(B: G). Student Parties/Movie Night are organized on weekends for boys and girls separately. Almost all of the Student Teams, Clubs, and Chapters conduct too many Technical Workshop, Hack-A-Thon, Make-A-Thons with their respective Faculty coordinators. The beauty here is that the whole event from logistics to the workshop is handled by students based on their expertise and experience. There is No, racism, gender inequality, or religious politics. Anyone is allowed to wear anything except for Shorts if one is entering Academic Buildings. The college policy is very strict regarding any kind of misbehaving or mishappenings on the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is brilliant. A few of the companies out of the incubator cell of college and are independent enough to come to VIT for recruitment purposes. On campus internship opportunities for many students are provided by Alumni Startups.

Admission

After the Entrance exam of VITEEE got over. Only the ranks were informed of counseling dates. VIT provides a merit rank up to 20000 (in 2016). My rank was 14916. I had heard about the practical approach of institutions to enlighten mechanical engineers in their specialization. Also, the institution provides the best opportunity for working in Clubs/Chapters/Teams providing students ample opportunities in what they are passionate about.

Faculty

4

I would categorize faculty under the following section: 1. knowledgeable (But No, expectation from students in terms of marks or knowledge), 2. Passionate (Willing to provide students research paper writing/Internship guidance for the future). Most of the faculties are middle-aged men, Masters Degree holder, with a few having Ph.D. as well. They really hold a good grip on the subject. The mode of teaching is mostly Digital (SmartBoard Teaching), Ppts, Book References.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
