Remarks

I think the infrastructure its bad. There is many brilliant students theremany of them got 90% and above in 12 but not getting the proper resultbecause of infrastructure. Lab is not good, Library is also not very good.Hostel is below stranded. Faculty is very few (Good Ones). I think theseare the key factors.

Entrance Preview

Not entrance examination. I admit through merit list and counselling.I ranked about 18th position as I remember and the capacity was 25.I opted this college because its the best one around my locality.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum was vast and very elaborate. Its very hard to complete the syllabus before the semester even our teachers are also complaining about the syllabus. Not got the proper study material, books not available that time like now days and they ware expensive we can't effort them. Don't know how I got my graduation degree but end of the day it was great.

Internships Opportunities

There was no such kind of facility. Stipend is very hard to get. It was a very long channel to pass and very difficult to get. Because party politics is every ware, you cant get past them without making them happier.

Placement Experience

0.5

No placement so no job. It is a govt college for general studies. And still here in west Bengal there is no placement available for general stream colleges.

College Events

2

Not much.We have an Annual day for Cultural Programs. One day for Welcome Freshers, Teachers Day's is not so big but celebrated. Saraswati Puja for one day .Thats All Above all this we enjoy a lot only in the Annual Cultural Programs. We all can participate and it was quite large. Huge budget was allocate for this purpose.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very cheap. Near about 1500 Rs for general students for per semester and for science it bit higher but still very much feasible. Like computer science it was 10K per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Absolutely not. There is no loan facility is available for us. Some scholarship is available though but they got there own candidate because of politics. So a needy students never get the facility .

Campus Life

2

Campus life I think the only good thing I got. Its really great. Gender ratio almost 1:1 and some department got higher female ratio.Extracurricular is not so well but our college had a great play ground and cricket and soccer is played there all the time. Debates is very popular and their is not much scope for robotics .

Alumni/Alumna

We have it all our won. Our college did not took any initiative for alumni es we have created our won facebook page groups to connect each other. Senior students also got connected through our groups in fb.

Exam Structure

Total 800 marks for honors and another 300 marks for pass course subjects and 100 marks for compulsory papers. We got to get 40% marks to clear the degree. Science students ware so busy in exams because its structure. Theory's Labs and all that. Lab is not well quipped so they got frustrated and also very time consuming.

Faculty

2.5

Very poor, Except one or two. Those time computer science faculties was not available though. But there is one Teacher (Ritwik Mukherjee), he wasgreat. Most of the students passed only for him.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
