Remarks

My college is great in many aspects though there are a few thngs they could improve, the teaching not all the teachers are good. I know everyone deserves a chance but if a teacher is consistently bad, he/she ought to be changed, the fees the college makes enough money as it is im sure, i think you could ease on the fees a little, hostels we MBBS students live in the worst hostels of the lot here which i dont get while other college memebers get to live in really good ones. Manipal university bacme famous for MBBS first, why are we given poor hostels while others arent.

Entrance Preview

I wrote the entrance exam for the college itself. I dont remember my exact score but my rank was 1500-something. This college is one of the top ten in the country and since i wasnt able to get into the other colleges i tried for i got into this one.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is as hard as anyone would expect an MBBS course to be the portions are huge and the exams are back to back. There were times when i thought it was too much but you cant do anything about it, you just got to keep reading and hope for the best.

Internships Opportunities

Based on what I've heard the internship in the hospital here is hectic but you get to see a wide variety of cases since our hospital is a tertiary centre in the outskirts of the city. About the pay I am not sure.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college boasts about the fact that many who pass out from our college get into the US after clearing the licensing exam for the same which is a huge accomplishment. Also Manipal is a worldwide recognised name and our doctors are sought after.

College Events

5

Our college hold numerous fests throughout the year the literary one is called VIBES and it gets people from all over south India. We hold an inter manipal university cultural fest called UTSAV and includes a variety of cultural events and each college is scored based on how much they win and finally a trophy is given to the winner. We have another huge even called MIST which is our national level sports meet for intermedicos.

Fee Structure And Facilities

To be fair, manipal university is known for their expense when i joined the college it was hefty 6.42 lakhs per year but its been ever increasing year after year.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first 10 ranks or so our university does offer a scolarship based on how much they earn loan facilites are avalaible from the SBI bank beacuse our college has a link with them.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is brilliant and manipal is known for that the gender ration is roughly 1:1. We dont have hostel parties as such but you can if you want to. We do have cultural societies for dance, music, research, sports, etc. To be honest manipal's the most tolerant place youll find we have people here from all over the world and they engage in whatever activites indians do without any hesitation nor do we have any issue with that.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facilities would depend on the amount you pay or you can just stay in the apartments nearby but the hostels are extremely well maintained every time you walk by, you see someone cleaning something or the other. The hostel rooms are adequately spaced. The bathrooms are cleaning and its 24 hour electricity most of the time except during the occasional thunderstorms. Mess food is provided at another site away from the ostel but withing walking distance (500m) and provides good food, both veg and non veg.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong here but i dont know when they meet and such senior students are extremely helpful so much that they all sit down with you, calm your nerves and tell you itll be easy its nice having them around.

Exam Structure

The exams were hectic as hell there was no mercy for us. We would have to read 300 pages or so in one night because our university wouldnt give us any days between exams which is absurd considering the volume we have to read.

Faculty

4

The faculty is a mixed bunch to be fair there are really helpful teachers who teach well and then there are teachers who teach because theyre being told to/have to.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is based on practical scenarios and very relevant since doctors need to understand real life scenarios inorder to treat patients. Curriculum includes OSCE and certified skills that prepare students to become good doctors. More individual attention and skill development can help students understand topics and mould into good clinicians.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS comprises 19 Subjects which is vast. Knowing so many things make you not only knowledgeable but also you have very important role in society. This course is filled with practical knowledge which are compulsory to get. This gives you skills which only a few people can have. So you already stand in society. The newer changes that has been made by NMC has reduced the time for studies. It was less exhausting before. Exams are properly placed and arranged . They are well divided into theories, practicals, internal examinations, certification for skills, etc. Last year has more papers now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doctor is a noble profession , the mere respect which we get by being doctor is one of the prime motive for me to pursuade this course Aside from physiology , anatomy and biochemistry we have a e t c o m which is a type of curriculum which is thought to us in which we learn to deal with different situations during our career and they also help us in terms of improving our communication which is very crucial In real life application . Personally for me the curriculum started on September and we had our first internals in January 2nd around March third round me and we had a final exams in August Honestly speaking MBBS is not an easy course , it is really hard, you need to understand the core, and then applied to even in theory and practical exams. concept
