Remarks
I've had a really good experience till now, so I would definitely agree with our college motto which says, a place to learn, a chance to grow. I don't have any negative remarks about my college as it has been a really good development in my life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is really good, with upto date syllabus and even the faculties are aware of the happenings around us to use and inculcate them in our curriculum. The exam structure is also really good. We have the freedom to choose the subjects we wish to study and also under whom we wish to study and also the timings at which we want to study.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are also good. Whoever applies for a job, doesn't go empty-handed. That's why we have almost 100% placements every year. The college also provides internship opportunities to students from the third year. Companies like Deloitte, Microsoft, also come for internships as well as placements. The highest CTC was 40 LPA this year.
College Events
We have two major fests. One technical the other cultural. The technical one is called Gravitas which takes place in the second week of October every year. In the fest, all the technical clubs and chapters conduct various events and workshops to enlighten fellow society. The cultural fest is called Riviera, it takes place in the second week of February every year, and we can proudly say, that it is the biggest cultural fest in India with participants coming from countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, Portugal, and many others.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite expensive and a lot of students study here on loans. The highest course fee bracket has the fee 4, 00, 000 per annum and the hostel fees go up to 3, 00, 000 per annum. So the maximum one has to pay is nearly 10, 00, 000. But the fees are variable, depending upon the rooms we choose, and also on the branch we choose.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a few scholarship programs by our college. Those are for the students which poor financial background. Since I'm from a well-off family, I can't avail any of those. The college also educates the poor students from in and around Vellore who are good at studies.
Campus Life
The labs here are a state of the art. Equipped with the latest equipment, be it a computer lab or an electrical lab, or a mechanical lab. Labs around the campus are really good. For sports, we have basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, badminton and many other teams which represent our college and bring laurels.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are really good, and the mess food quality is also improving. We have regular meetings to discuss the problems faced by the students and the issues are addressed properly by the right authorities.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is really good, but it is not that helpful for us. We don't have direct contacts with the alumni, but they are connected to each other really well. We have alumni meets every year like every other college.
Admission
I filled the entry form for the college, and then the entrance test dates were released. We had an option to choose from a list of dates and times, after the test, the results were announced and we were called for counseling process on the basis of ranks in the test. The branches were getting filled up on the first come first serve basis.
Faculty
The faculty here are really helpful, being a South Indian college, there is no South India versus North India discrimination. The faculty treat everyone equally. Their knowledge domain is also very vast. And the faculty here are also very young, so they are more up to date with the latest happenings in the technical world.
