Remarks
College management is a bit strict but if you're not doing anything wrong you need not worry about anything. In fact, they help you with your problems.
Course Curriculum Overview
Here in VIT, the learning process is a bit complex due to its FFCS learning system. But if we talk of its benefit it'll dominate the complexity. The environment provided inside the University is really industry-specific whether in terms of technical or psychological. They provide you the industry-specific training classes and various seminars on the topics going around the globe inside various organizations. And this makes the students be more confident during the placement season. Lots of industrial visits are also organized for the students. For me, there were around 6 industrial visits and this really helps.
Placement Experience
In my view, the placement rate is 85-90% with an average CTC of 7LPA which is a decent package for a fresher. Around 700 company visits per year including core, IT, and product-based. VIT provides special training classes 3 days a week for the placement preparation. Following are the few steps to be qualified for the placement process- 1. Your GPA must be above 6.0 2. Your 10th+12th marks should be above 60% 3. There must be no standing arrear But these criteria may differ subject to the companies policies.
College Events
There are lots of technical events like gravitas, hackathons. There are lots of technical and cultural clubs in which lots of technical and cultural events keep on happening. And the cultural events are Aikya and Riviera. In these events students from pan India visit and take part.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is much feasible wrt the other private institutions, whether it's tuition fee or hostel and mess charges. The college accepts payment through e-gateway, DD, or cheque but not cash. You have to pay 60k for securing your admission and hostel seats which will be paid during counseling. Yes, you can pay your fee in installments too.
Fees and Financial Aid
During my time I was availing a scholarship of 50k for 4 years based on my viteee rank and CGPA of 7 semesters which sums about 2lacs but now it's not based on VITEE rank. There are some other criteria for availing of scholarships.
Campus Life
College life is much cooler. The gender ratio is about 40:60(girls: boys) which is quite good numbers. You can choose different extracurricular activities which are free of cost and some are chargeable. You will get exposure to different clubs and chapters where lots of parties going on. Here the administration is strict in terms of raging and any kind of bullyings.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. Here in VIT the hostel facilities are damn good. It's totally depends on you to choose your room to be single or sharing. It's better to go for sharing it'll be fun. College won't allow you to be day-scholar in your 1st year because of safety concern. But if want to be day scholar from 2nd year the pg charges are 3k per person for single room.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, it's much helpful to be in touch with the senior students or alumni. I had many interactions with seniors which helped me throughout my academics.
Admission
I chose the IT discipline because coding is the thing in which I have a keen interest. I chose VIT because it's really a place to learn and a chance to grow. I got admission based on my VITEEE rank which is held during Apr-May. I filled my VITEE application form online and chose a specific date and slot to appear in the entrance exam. Your rank will be decided based on your performance and you can choose your branch based on your rank. After your VITEEE result is out VIT will announce counseling, it's for opting for your branch and campus visit.
Faculty
There are lots of good faculties on the VIT Vellore campus and bad ones also. But it totally depends on your course registration process which one you want to take. Here are lots of young faculties whose age is within 30-37 and they are highly qualified to be part of VIT. In VIT we get subject experts based on their specialization. And yes these all faculties are well assessed before becoming part of VIT.
