Remarks
Our college is one of the oldest in Kolkata and that shows. A lot of the building was in shambles. However, a lot of reconstruction has taken place recently and now the college looks nice.
Course Curriculum Overview
The professors try their best to make sure the students understanding their lessons and they drive them to study harder. The professors make sure that their students are gearing up enough for outside world and try their utmost to see that the students are being driven to learn; sometimes even outside their usual course to make sure that no stones are left unturned to get the most out of their education.
Placement Experience
Our college does not provide campusing facility as it is an old school college under the Calcutta University board.
College Events
Our college holds an annual event named NEXUS where the students are allowed to perform their talents. Alongside that, famous stars are also invited to the college. Other than that, departmental events of many kinds are held. Overall, entertainment in our college is right up there.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our college fees get paid bi-annually which is a very low amount since our college is subsidized. Our college only accepts cash for payment of fees. No extra money has to be paid for securing an admission. Our college is totally transparent with the fee breakdown and all of it is listed in the fee book.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not opted for any scholarship. However, my college does offer scholarships to students to deserve it merit wise.
Campus Life
Life on our college campus is rather fun if you stay within your limits! Gender ratio is more or less equal. Diversity? Very much so! Everyone mixes with everyone and there are people from so many religions. Many extracurricular activities are held as well to make sure the students do not get bored.
Hostel Facilities
Our college does not provide living accomodations for it's students. Any student who lives far away and wishes to study in our college has to rent his/her own apartment. This, in my opinion is a big letdown since rent in our college area can get quite expensive.
Alumni/Alumna
Our alumni are probably some of the most helpful people in the college! Sometimes, they are more helpful than the college staff.
Admission
I initially opted for B. A English Honours. However, I couldn't take the stress and later shifted to B. A General. Our institution is held in high accord for being one of the oldest and one of the most prestigious colleges on the face of Kolkata. The college location also played a major role.
Faculty
For each subject, a professor is enlisted to help out the students. The average age of the teachers range from 40 years old right up to 60 years old. Every teacher holds a post graduate degree at the very least and have tons of teaching experience under their belts.
