Remarks

This college provides a very balanced and healthy Lifestyle with lots of learning experience. Bad side is it is loosing it's spot from other private colleges with lack of funds.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took part in electrical engineering of batch 2012. You will have combined subjects for first year and you have to learn many programing language with computer science students. With second year you will be more focused on your respective subjects associated with your stream. There is whole six months program for onsite training program where you have to work as a trainee with a company to gain experience on your respective subjects and fields.

Placement Experience

3

Internship is of six months and all the grades for that course comes from the place where you do internship. College can provide some references but most of the times you are the one who have to take responsibility to gather information on all the companies providing internship program. Campus placement starts one year before the end semester. You are allowed to sit if certain criteria is met like cgpa above 6.5 or so on. Companies generally takes short analytical exams on computer or paper to test basic knowledge and after that multiple rounds of face to face interview.

College Events

4.5

We have yearly many programs like PECOSA where we invite some celebrity to perform on college campus. Yearly technology fest too takes place where you can demonstrate your technical skill with building something in front of faculty and other students from same college and others.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are on semester basis. First semester has somewhat of higher expensive than other semester because of some first time payments. You have to purchase laptop if you don't have it. Paying of semester fee is easy and you have to go admin block of campus and provide your stream and roll number with payment after filling a basic form.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes college do provide scholarship opportunities where first come and first serve is the eligibility criteria. You have to fulfill some criteria to avail it on the basis of different scholarship. If you are from lower income class family criteria is annual income of both the parents and there is scholarship opportunities for candidates who are from SC/ST or OBC class.

Campus Life

4

Gend ratio is not good in our college or any other which I have heard of. We had 55 students in electrical engineering batch and not more than 20 girls. There is no issue with any kind of discrimination tough in the campus. No ragging is allowed and strict standards are maintained for that. No political or religious seminar is allowed as such without permission. Although you are allowed to discuss on same.

Hostel Facilities

4

No I haven't opted for college hostel as I was living near to college and it's not mandatory to take hostel if you don't want to. College has some percent of quota for local residents and most of them don't opt for hostel. Students coming from different parts of country generally takes place in hostel as it is cheap compared to other options. We have fully functional mess with some good options outside of campus too for eatery.

Alumni/Alumna

College senior are generally helpful. They provide study material and references for better grades. On the very first you are introduced with your stream senior who give you detailed tour of college and classes. They provide their personal phone numbers in case of help. A separate movie session also took place where you interact with them more by performing your talent and skills.

Admission

You have to have AIEEE All India Rank to be eligible to sit in councelling which proceed with 3 days. Candidates hav to come to campus with the rank slip and given date and time mentioned in brochure. Brochure can be downloaded online or can be brought from Punjab University campus. Three major colleges takes part in the process namely PEC, UIET, and engineering arts college.

Faculty

2.5

Subjects are taught by many lab sessions which includes chemistry lab, electrical labs and design labs. Exams are modelled in such a way that more focused is on practical knowledge. A very balanced learning is provided between theory and practical. viva session also conducted by faculty to focus on more learning and communication.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read
