Remarks

The overall experience was worth having it and has definitely helped me in growing my career. The infrastructure is up to the mark and is being continuously developed every day. There are continuous improvements in the quality if education and life at VIT Campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

VIT has a fully flexible credit system (FFCS) which gives you the freedom to decide the no. of credits you want to clear every semester. This eventually allows you to plan your focus on any project, training or extra-curricular activity you want to complete. The projects help you understand the subjects in detail and help you in developing a research point of view in an area. It has helped me greatly to achieve success in my research career and my master's thesis.

Placement Experience

3.5

The VIT placement cell as well as professors have a good tie up with the industry. There are many fortune 500 companies recruiting regularly from VIT University. I received a research internship with CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh for 1 year. I was referred to a scientist there by one of my professors. You'll definitely find an opportunity on or off campus once you graduate from VIT.

College Events

5

They have a yearly ritual of two fests. The first one is gravitas which is a technical fest conducted in first semester while Riviera is a cultural fest conducted in second semester. The fest definitely helps to rejuvenate the students from the academic routine.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible considering the quality of education and life at VIT. The fee structure is very transparent. The fees need to be paid in the form of DD. I had to pay 1. 2 L per year fees which included tuition fees, hostel (2 bed) and mess fees. There is a 50000 refundable security deposit. Every student has to open a student saving account in Indian Bank which has a branch in Campus itself. The account is linked to college administration and the necessary transactions can be made securely.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. I did not apply for any scholarships or education loan for the course. However, the toppers of entrance exam are awarded scholarship to admit in a program as per the students choice. They have a scholarship program if you are seeking for admission in foreign universities for future education and research internship.

Campus Life

5

The campus life and environment is very relaxing, secure and friendly. The hostel has a big playground as well as badminton courts in many of the hostel buildings. The gender ratio is 1:2 on the campus. The girls hostel is also very secure and safe. There is strict no ragging policy on the campus which is followed as well. They also have a library which can be used for studying and for tons of reference books.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes, VIT has one of the biggest and state of the art hostel facility. I had opted for a 2 sharing room. There are about 14 hostel buildings on the campus. The buildings, rooms, toilets are well-maintained. Each hostel building has washing machines to wash clothes for which you need to pay as per the use. You can also wash clothes manually. The campus also has a laundry which washes and press the clothes. The mess has many options (north indian food mess, south indian food mess, special mess) to choose from.

Alumni/Alumna

They have a great initiative called "Once a VIT'ian, always a VIT'ian". The alumni get all the updates regarding the new activities at campus. The placement services are extended to alumnus as well which is of great help to all the passed out students.

Admission

I appeared for VITMEE exam for Post graduate admission. I qualified the exam and was invited for the admission process. The whole admission procedure was very simple, guided and systematic. The slot (date and time) was allotted for counseling round where you have to reach to the nearest VIT campus. There you are called rank wise for counseling and asked to select the specialization branch in which you intend to get admitted. You can see the Realtime availability of the seats for all the courses during counseling session. The seats for each course are divided in sections based on tuition fees. The section with least tuition fees gets occupied first. Then the formalities regarding the hostel and mess are completed. The hostel room will be allotted as per availability and your preference of choices.

Faculty

4.5

We had a total faculty of 20 professors during the course of 2 years. The faculty is mixed in terms of professional experience. They have some professors with industrial experience as well as some professors with research and strong academic experience. Though the overall experience of the professors is 6-10 years. You won't find any professors with zero experience in VIT. The professors and program heads are very co-operative and provide the necessary guidance to achieve your goals.
