Remarks

I personally chose this college because it is at a walking distance to my college and of course Pol.Science hons. has such high cutoffs so one should not miss a chance when they get the subject they desire but any other person who is not having this reason would justify it by saying that this college has a very brilliant faculty of professors who are highly educated and supportive in studies. The campus is really big and interesting since there have been many trees in the campus and also other various types of plants and small parks which make it a very green area which is a must for a polluted city like Delhi. The Admission process is entirely on the merit basis and the dates for the admission this year is uncertain due to the ongoing situation of COVID-19. However, last year I took admission on the 4th of July and the classes had begun by 22nd July. Students even get admitted on the basis of ECA and Sports Quota and ultimately land up into the respective society after the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The reason I chose this subject was that I was interested in it since my school days and also I want to pursue my Masters in International Relations and prepare for UPSC as well. The faculty student ratio is amazing, the teachers are always ready to give their best to make the students full of knowledge and the students too like to gain whatever knowledge they can from the most experienced Professors. The faculty of the college is highly educated and have always sought the best way of teaching to give the students the knowledge and the studies they desire to get. Some of them are even Doctorate and this shows that they are highly experienced teachers and experience speaks better. The 1st semester was conducted very timely and systematically but as people think that you don't have to study once you are in college,it is wrong since exams are not that easy. However, unluckily we couldn't have the 2nd semester exams due to the cancellation of the exams by the government due to the Pandemic.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements in the college for now are only being offered to some selected courses which are B.com (Hons.) , Economics (Hons.), etc, on their final semester. Not much information is known to the students regarding the Placement Cell of the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very reasonable since it is a government institution. The cost of study is different for different courses but ranges between 10,000-15,000. My course has been charged 10,000/yr. However, one could also apply for various government scholarships that are available for the students. One of them being the CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEMES OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS which provides a yearly scholarship of Rs.10,000 to students(85% and above in boards) and Rs. 20,000 to students pursuing the PG degree. One has to apply online on government scholarship sites to avail them.

Campus Life

The college holds an Annual Cultural Fest every year in Feb/March which is named SABRANG. It is a wonderful event of two days wherein Bollywood singers are invited to perform in the event and make it a wonderful evening for students to remember. This year the singers Akhill (famous for his song Khaab) and Darshan Rawal who is indeed a heartthrob came to make the evenings colorful and mesmerizing with their soulful music. There are also Department Fests held by each department which is also a very wonderful event organized by the Department Panel who won the Dept.Elections. It encourages the students of the respective department and other departments too to take part in the cultural events and fun events like Treasure Hunts. The college also has a numerous talented societies like Music,Dance, Street Play, Modelling etc. The best part is the NCC and NSS which are truly a major and a supportive part of the college with the kind of work they do to make the college proud.

Almost 100% as our course students dont have to do much as getting to this college is enough. Our economics society and placement cell both work so hard to get the best companies here and that is why placements at St, Stephen's are amazing not just of our branch but overall as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to me, bachelor of Arts is a waste program, it doesn't prepare you for anything except government exams. It doesn't prepare you for real world applications unless you have other in demand skills. I think there's a lot of need to change the syllabus of bachelor of Arts and teachers should be supportive and qualified. In every 6 months there's semester exams and mostly they're quite difficult.

Remarks:

Positive- Faculty is one of the best in among all colleges of Delhi University. It has the biggest infrastructure in Delhi university. Located in central Delhi which makes it easily accessible to reach Central park, red fort, and many more places in New Delhi. Negative- Annual fest is very poor in our college. Placements are not very good. Lack of sports facilities. Very strict rules and discipline.
