Remarks

All I have is good for college its a great college and still very much education focused.

Entrance Preview

Scored a one of the top most rank in bihar combined entrance competitive examination which enabled me to select seat among best offerings among top RECs (Old name of NIT). Also got a rank in IIT but was getting mechanical engineering, in favor of computer science in a top most REC (NIT), I left IIT seat.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

During that time computer science was evolving and it was more theoretical by nature. But College took all initiatives to provide best computer labs, good assignments and practical knowledge by inviting engineers and management working in top notch companies. Some of our lab assignments and most of the project work being planned and evaluated/judged by people working in software companies. It was a great step to bring student closer to software industry and build a sense of what coming up in future.

Internships Opportunities

During that time number of companies coming to campus were less. It was a time when service based companies in India were in forefront and product based companies still in the process of setting up and creating footprint of themselves.

Placement Experience

4.5

It was limited but considering limitation which all colleges facing that time, it was still great. Job opportunities are good for who wants to join software industry but not good for who wants to join job related to their branch like mechanical, electrical etc. But this is problem in all colleges and not just limited to NIT Warangal.

College Events

3.5

Spring spree - NIT WarangalIt use to be very big. Apart from entertainment, it was also display of technical superiority using projects built by engineers and selected by panel. Representative from top companies, alumni visit college to enjoy the blend of technologies and entertainment being offered by college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was very less that timeAnnual Fee - 6500/ in year + 1500 hostel and food changes / month + nominal library and infrastructure chargesIt was very much affordable in my case i completed my entire engineering (4 YEARS) in just 1.25 Lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Nothing which I know off i don't now any such scheme being offered by college. I know few people who took education loan but from banks etc but yes, it would be good if college offers such things.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was great, something I will not forget for my entire life. Labs were good extracurricular activities were mainly ran by group of students by becoming member of different clubs.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel and food was not all that great hostel were not very clean. I recently visited college all the old hostels are now closed and new hostel being made food is still very much same, and its not hygienic canteens are still same and not vey clean.

Alumni/Alumna

There are many such group in whatsApp, facebook, in fact so many that now its hard to identify which group is better. NIT Warangal, is one group in Facebook which has many members.

Exam Structure

Regular monthly tests and a final semester exam. Different weights for monthly exams, semester exams and, weekly lab assignment and final lab exam. All adds up to final marks. It was good approach and practical approach. It was a continuos evaluation process.

Faculty

4.5

Well educated, dedicated and extremely passionate there were large percentage of professor who were great motivators and use to take personal interest in building career and shaping up life for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
