Remarks
The scenic beauty of the CGEC campus is eye-catching with marvelous weather throughout the year, in addition to this, it is situated beside the river Torsha which is adding another plus point to the beauty of CGEC. It is situated in the local area which is almost 5-6km from Coochbehar town (which is quite obvious for a govt. Engineering College). To take admission in this college an individual has to give wbjee exam, according to the current scenario application form out in the month of October and in January admit card is issued and the exam is conducted most probably in Feb, and in April result is released by the board. The main reason for choosing this college for me was, I had got my preferred branch and the wonderful environment of cgec campus too.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 5 branches in CGEC namely ME, EE, ECE, CS&Civil, and in all branches well-qualified professors with great experience of teaching in their respective fields. The professors are helpful and friendly in nature and maximum are m.tech or Ph.D. degree holders. Coming to my branch, I belong to the department of mechanical engineering and in my department, there are almost 6-7 faculty currently including to new one who has recently joined CGEC in addition to that some part -time faculty also come from time to time to take the class if needed. The semester exam is held timely and it is a moderate level type exam
Internships Opportunities
In CGEC any individual get many chances for internship and the college also provide one industrial training in 3rd or 4th year
Placement Experience
Recently 1st batch of our college has pass out and coming to placement maximum student from cs and ese branch got placed from off-campus in companies like Intel, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, cognizant, etc whereas in my branch some of my senior got placement in htc, icici bank,necon machinery, etc whereas some of them get chance of in IIT and nit through the gate. Some seniors also got selected in 2-3 companies at a time. Whereas I do not have much information for placement from other branch but as much I know one of senior from EE score rank is around 800 -850 in the gate and one another senior from civil got chance in IIT madras due to pandemic we are not able to collect the whole data of placement but I know many more placement news yet to come.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure in CGEC is very nominal, the per year semester fees of core branch-like EE, ME & civil is Rs.3000 whereas for cs, ece it is Rs.6000 There are several scholarship programs is run by central and state govt like NSP, SVMCM, oasis, etc.
Campus Life
The campus life is awesome .there are many events which are organized by CGEC like " ESPERANZA " which is a tech cum cultural fest, "CRESO" which is a welcoming event for freshers rather than that there are so many events like Saraswati puja, Vishwakarma puja, teachers day and many more are celebrated coming to sports, there are so many sports like football, cricket, badminton, volleyball events organized by CGEC Coming to the club there are almost 4-5 clubs in CGEC related to literature,tech, photography, etc. The library of having so many collections of books with the proper area for study and if you want to issue the book then you can only issue 2 book at a time.
