Remarks

The college management was a little orthodox at our time but I am sure it would have changed by now. NIT Warangal surely provides you an excellent opportunity to learn and evolve and also provides an strong platform to kick-start your career

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE and scored around 2500 India rank. Nit Warangal is one of the best engineering colleges in India after few top IITs and hence I selected this college. I also had option of IIT (AIR 3000) but I was not getting desired branch and hence went for NIT Warangal

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

We had almost fixed subjects as the electives had not come into the education curriculum at that time. We only had few electives in final year. The subjects were fixed based on branch that was selected by the student at the time of college entrance

Internships Opportunities

At our time, few companies came for internship and offered stipend ranging from 5k pm to 30k pm. At that time, getting experience was more important than money. I am sure now, the stipend would be much more

Placement Experience

5

NIT Warangal is excellent in terms of placements. That is one of the biggest strengths of this college. It is very close to IT hub Hyderabad and it is well respected by most of the companies in India and even abroadNItW packages are at the top of packages offered at various engineering colleges.

College Events

4

We had multiple technical and cultural events like Technozion, etc. We had huge participation from various colleges and students took part in large numbers due to brand name of our college

Fee Structure And Facilities

NIT Warangal was one of the cheapest at my time with per year fees almost 15000 INR (including tuition and hostel). Now it would have increased for sure but it is worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

We were offered scholarships by the institute based on academic performance and loans by the bank were also available

Campus Life

4

The campus life was ok. One thing that was poor at our time was the gender ratio. Very few girls because of location (probably). There was very less part culture in the college although events were celebrated. There were cultural groups which organized events from time to time which was a lot of fun.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

In our time, the hostel was not very good and neede renovation but I know for sure that many new and modern hostels have come up in the campus. The mess food was reasonable for both veg and non-veg. There are also many options just outside the campus

Alumni/Alumna

NIT Warangal enjoys a huge alumni network as it is one of the oldest and one of the top NITs in India. Various alumni are are good positions in various companies and they also come forward to help whenever required. We also have NITW alumni meets from time-to-time

Exam Structure

The exams were quite frequent. In a 4 month period, we would have 2 exams and 2 class tests for each subject. So, the schedule was quite hectic but that is what prepares you for outer world.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very experienced and learned. Although at our time, many of the faculty was a bit old and hence somewhat orthodox. But from an education point of view, the faculty is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
