Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is pretty similar to Other IITs. We have 2 semesters every year and a total of 8 semesters in course. Labs on almost 4 days out of 5, and with assignments, projects, quizzes, mid and end sem exams, it is surely hectic.

Placement Experience

Our first bacth is yet to be place. But, the internship cell surely works hard in providing various internship opportunities. We have many students securing internship oppurtunities at Google, Microsoft, Seimens, L&T, etc. If one is skilled, it is pretty easy to get an internship with IIT tag.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is quite feasible for me comparing to other colleges. All though the general fees is around 1.1 lac per sem, I got fee waiver due to my family's annual income. I also managed to get scholarship, so it is less burden on me. But, it is surely worth the money you spend.

Campus Life

We are not 'All work, No play' type. We chill out a lot like going on trips with our group. We play a lot of sports, soccer being my favorite. We also participate in inter-IIT sports meet where we compete with other IITs. We have many seminars and brainstorming sessions. We also host our own tech and cultural fests.

Admission

One needs to have a minimum of 75% aggregate in 12th and clear JEE mains+ advance to get into IIT. It's tough but not impossible. CBSE conducts the examination process and counseling via JOSAA. I prepared for 2 years for this and it was worth it.

Faculty

The faculty is top-tier and highly educated. Some are from Old IITs, so you can imagine their teaching experience. They are highly active on their research and working to find solutions to modern problems. Some are freindly and some are quite serious when they are teaching, but you can surely count on them in case you face any difficulties.

Faculties are highly experienced and ready to help all the time
Good infrastructure with well equipped labs, library, sports
Adds extra curricular activities like teaching AI and other trending topics in college

Dislikes

Washrooms need to be clean and good to use especially for girls hygiene it has to be good
Hostel food is not that great and needs improvement in the quality of food
Thought schedule everyday hard to cope up with everything

Good the teachers find the best ways to make the subject interesting and teach us in the most interesting way they will help the weak students to feel the subject as a cake walk and help all the students out in the same way

Balanced Experience with Academics and Career Growth

Likes

The teachers are highly knowledgeable and experienced in their respective subjects. They explain concepts clearly and are always approachable for doubts.
Each student as a mentor who provides academic support, career advice and help us succeed in our goals.
Frequent guest lectures, hackathons, and workshops that are very useful as they provide exposure to real-world concept.

Dislikes

There are comparatively fewer extracurricular activities offered in the college.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are decent, especially for MCA students who actively build their skills. The college provides placement training from earlier semesters, including aptitude test, coding practice, and mock interviews which helps in preparation.

It was good professors and friendly teaching staff
Campus life is good, it provide new opportunities and has events and various clubs
Everyone here are good and friendly and is a lovely place to study

Dislikes

Hospital is far from college, which is again not an issue as they send bus service
It can give and provide more opportunities
Hostel facilities can be improved and they can build few more lecture halls

Faculty Experience and Mentorship : Experienced faculty : The faculty at SVIT is often described as appreciable , knowledge, and supportive . professors are well - versed in there respective fields ,and many have industrial experience .
Placement support : Strong placement record: SVIT hasa good placement record ,with many students securing in top - tier companies like TCS , Wipro , Accenture, Infosys,. The college guidence through placement offers traning .

Dislikes

Collaborative Environment : Group project and assignment is core elements of curriculum with many course designed to involve group work and collaborative projects.
Cultural Activities : Are not celebrated more in semister
Collaborative learning : Communication barrier in larger teams especially working with different backgrounds or academic disciplines.

Placement Experience:

The placement at SVIT Bengaluru area quite impressive , especially in the technical field like Computer science, Civil, Electrical and Machanical Engineering.The college has a dedicated placement cell that students get the best opportunities for internship and final placement .At SVIT , Students typically become eligible for campus placement from the 7 th semester . However, the placement cell starts preparing students for interview and skill development from the 5 th semester onwards though mock interview , resume - building workshops , and personality development session.SVIT Bengaluru has strong industry connection , especially in the IT and engineering sectors .some of the companies that regularly visit the campus recruitment includes. TCS , Infosys , Wipro, Congnizant, Accenture,IBM, Capgemini ,Tech Mahendra , Amazon.High- package : The highest salary package offered in recent year was around 15 - 18 lakhs per annum for candidates . Average package: The average salary package offered is ar8 4- 5 lakhs per annum. The placement rates at SVIT is consistently high . On average , around 80-85% of eligible students get placed in good companies.

Less fees but wonderful knowledgeful experience

Dislikes

Particular teaching subject wise was not so clear.
Placement training courses coding wise was not that good.
Water facility sometimes was not good but it was ok nothing to dislike

Placement Experience:

1. From 7th semester onwards placement activities start. But from 1st semester itself they start training. 2. Windcare, Rinexx, Wipro, Infosys, A1 fence, Microdegree, Intellipath and so on. 3. Intellipath offers 10 lakh per annum and so on. 4. 85 percent students where getting placed. 5. To start my own venture.

Great coure , great college , better life

Library is well furnished with lots and lots of book.there is well furnished chairs and table like compartments where students can completely isolate himself and study. There are thousands of books in library
Study room is provided at the top floor of the institute. It is really clean and there are separate room like compartments where students can study well. They can even discuss in group if they want
We have a cafe inside our institute. Here we can have tea and coffee to relieve ourselves

Doctor is a noble profession , the mere respect which we get by being doctor is one of the prime motive for me to pursuade this course Aside from physiology , anatomy and biochemistry we have a e t c o m which is a type of curriculum which is thought to us in which we learn to deal with different situations during our career and they also help us in terms of improving our communication which is very crucial In real life application . Personally for me the curriculum started on September and we had our first internals in January 2nd around March third round me and we had a final exams in August Honestly speaking MBBS is not an easy course , it is really hard, you need to understand the core, and then applied to even in theory and practical exams. concept

An honest review

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.

I wrote NEET and cleared with a decent score, they also take KCET score for admissions if you are from Karnataka state. 50% is the minimum marks to obtain, you can either apply online or in person. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the score of entrance exams and their boards.

Over all IIT Dharwad is good not bad

I choose this college because I got computer science branch in IIT and fees is also low for me as a middle class student because I search in other nit have 2 lacks fee for one year for sc and fill this fee at the starting but here I fill 58500 in 1st sem and remaining in 2nd semester so it's And I applied for IIT Bombay here I choose chemical engineering but required rank is 679bbut my is 927 that's why not selected. Life at IIT Dharwad - What to expect

I applied for CSE and MnC branches of all the 1st and 2nd gen IITs along with the 3rd gen IITs, my rank was about 4.8k so I knew I could get CSE only in the 3rd gen IITs out of which I felt IIT Dharwad was the best. My main reason for choosing IIT Dharwad was CSE, also that it was mentored by IIT Bombay, so the syllabus is quite tried and tested, also Dharwad is near to the tech hubs of the country like bengaluru, pune, mumbai, hyderabad which is good for someone who is really passionate about CSE.
