Entrance Preview

I took CBSE board exams for class 12 and scoring 90% marks in best of 5 took admission in Delhi University's Rajdhani College. Because I want to do Economics hons and Rajdhani college is well connected from my home.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Principle of Economics is basic primary introduction to Economics. There is statistics for economics course for introduction to statistical analysis and inferential decision. Then advanced microeconomics and macroeconomics theory are taught in 2nd year. In 3rd year more applied courses such as Econometrics, game theory and international economics are being taught. Course is well balanced to offer maximum exposure for all fields and concepts in economics.

Internships Opportunities

All major companies such as google, KPMG, microsoft, TCS, amazon came for hiring on campus. I did placement in Danata and did data analysis internship. I got stipend of 20,000 per month for 3 months.

Placement Experience

4

Placements last year were made for 100% students. Packages for salary range from 5 lakhs to 30 lakhs per annum.

College Events

5

College has annual festival. Every department has their own festival as well. There are several other cultural events such as NSS fest, business competitions, sports day and cultural events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is feasible . Not expensive at all. Overall it is 5000 per annum which is cheap given the infrastructure facilities of college. There are no additional expenses for college fees or any hidden charges. But xharges are extra for exam fees at 500 and various on-campus things such as society funds, buying sweatshirts etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not avail any scholarship. But there are many need based and merit scholarships, awards. Private and public banks can also give loans.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio is balanced. Hostel parties are decent and happening. College organises various workshops for skill development and placements. There is lot of cultural and religious diversity on campus and all people are friendly and helpful. No bullying. Healthy political debates and activism takes place on campus. All students actively participate in various causes and volunteer for different experiences. Students are career oriented.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors are very helpful. They share notes, previous year papers and tips of success. They are nice mentors and coach. All of them are very friendly. We hangout together, there is no bullying. All alumni is well placed. If you connect with alumni who are placed , they help with industry information and help get jobs and intern-ships.

Exam Structure

There are exams throughout the year. Internal assessments, then college exams, university projects, internal exams, then final university exams.

Faculty

5

Faculty in economics is very well educated. All teachers have excellent academic credentials. teachers are punctual. They provide detailed class notes for exams. Teachers are helpful in making students understand all concepts.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
