Remarks

College management should try and focus more on placements rather than building infrastructure one by one. They are expanding lik anything but should also consider avg placements rate of the budding Professional else everything is good. They are trying to improve the quality of teaching which is a very good prospect. They are conducting more and more events as well

Entrance Preview

I went through CET examination which is state level exam and scored around 4 thousand rank and decided to be at my hometown jalandhar and got admission in lovely professional university there was no interview process at that time. I chose b.tech coz engineering was something which my passion was.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It was really up to mark and got to learn so many things technical mindset was developed subjects like ds and computer architecture were really interesting.digital electronics was the one in which i was more interested. I learned c ++twice++. I actually used to teach my friens and my batchmates physics and electronics at that time. They cleared their papers which they were not expecting lol

Internships Opportunities

No stipend was offered. I did my internship in some institute in Gurgaon. The institute was high technology solutions which was there to provide courses to students like JAVA, c'+'manual and automation testing, Sal, database and many more. The teachers were not that good. They promised placements but unfortunately we got nothing out of it. Though we got the I m certifications for a project called space management but it was useless. Waste of money and waste of time. My advise would be to see which institute and what are they gonna teach u or give u that should be taken care of while going for any kind of intern

Placement Experience

2

Not that much but few companies came and hired good ones from LPU. ACCENTURE, HCL, GREY B, AON CAMR AND OFFERED PACKAGES FROM 2 -4 lap approximately 1000 from our batch GOT placed.

College Events

1.5

MANY events were held at that time we enjoyed a lot.events like TECH fest WAS there and fashion fest and many more. Events are held just to involve students in so in some co-curricular activities so that they can enjoy their studies along with some extra activities this helps the students to build a good mindset which eventually leads to a good personality overall. Cultural management festival held in the colleges and nothing but the events which shows that the college care for the students the best Square actually good it was a large number of people from different colleges came to our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a bit expensive I would say this is really too high the college management should see that they are not expecting much out of a an average middle class person although I understand that the expenses are high it increasingly is creating an impact on the college management but they should consider middle class family which who is trying to pay for the students fees if it'll increase like this in future people will face many difficulties making their children study for such big courses so my advice would be to reduce the fee structure considering the average middle class family pay

Fees and Financial Aid

Nope, No loans taken that's my bad luck that I never will any kind of scholarship I was not given any kind of scholarship during my college time I was not that brilliant I was 6 but I know many who are aware that facility and about loans I never will any kind of loan in my whole life time but I am planning to avail now although I know some of my friends who took loan for the studies it's a good idea for those who cannot pay their fees so that they can learn and again see that loan

Campus Life

4

Shops were good campus cafeteria was really a good place to hang out for us. The campus cafeteria was amazing a cool place to hang around apart from cafeteria there were many shops like phone recharge and south Indian, cafe, photostats.

Hostel Facilities

4

Didn't get a chance to stay in a hostel there so no idea on that. I was the day scholar I never stayed in the hostel 12 no idea about the average range or disease which is to be paid in the mess or for the rooms but yes I have heard from my friends that's a bit high as compared to the other colleges although the food was good in the mess but it was a bit high expensive I would say everything is good

Alumni/Alumna

We were the second batch in lip but yes met few seniors quite helpful. We used to hang around together sometimes used to write assignments together.

Exam Structure

Very structured they decided that approach should be 2 mid terms and a final end term exam in a semester.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was not that intellectual but I would say they were all trying level best to make sure students learns something from them by the end of the day.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Landran, Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
