Remarks

The college is bad and the management is horrible. Its like some jail there. Thank god I'm out!

Entrance Preview

I wrote the entrance exam conducted by karunya University itself. I was rank 1480. The entrance exam was easy but it was conducted in an lkg school with small benches and desks

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Course was good. Interesting. It was related to media but we only had 2 media subjects rest all subjects were that of electronics and communication department. I thought the course wud be fully related to media but it wasnt. And it is really hard too.

Internships Opportunities

There wasn't much of companies coming in. Even if there were only the greatest students are allowed to go and the average student doesnt have amy chance. If lucky, an average student can get placed in a call center

Placement Experience

0.5

Placements arent so good. All the companies showing up offer low salary and dont recruit average students. If an average student is lucky she can get placed in a call center

College Events

There arent many events. Just 2 main events. One is kemt which is a sports tournament and the other one is mindkraft which they call is a intercollege fest but i haven't seen anyone from other college's coming in. Just an example is that if there is a dance or a song yu aren't alowed to play or sing movie or album songs. Its either got to be religious or shud not have any lyrics

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was feasible as i got a merit seat. Had to pay 65k per sem which includes hostel and food. Food wqs really bad, if yu wanted good food yu wud have to pay 7k a month which isnt worth what they serve

Fees and Financial Aid

I think there are some scholarship schemes but i haven't enquired about it much. I think there are some good scholarship as i have seen many people getting it

Campus Life

Campus life was really strict. You could get suspended for talking to a girl. They actually have 2 different staircases for boys and girls and they have also divided the canteen based on gender. That is really poor as they dont want us to interact witg the opp sex. The company yu are going to work in isnt goin to be a gay or lesbian company '

Hostel Facilities

As its a residential college, the students arent allowed to stay outside. Mess food is a real fail. I wont even feed my dog what they serve. And hostel is more like central jail

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

Noo. I do know some seniors who still come back to clear arrears. The college wont leave us. They will drain all our pockets and make us run in a loop

Exam Structure

We had 3 internals. Its really sad that if yu dont pass all 3 internals with 60%, you wont be allowed to write externals.

Faculty

Faculty of the college is below average. The teachers think they are some big shit and the students are treated like slaves. They have no idea that they are eating food with the fees we pay. We dont get respect. We are treated really bad

Overall Good

Placement Experience:

In our University from the starting of Seventh semester we are eligible for campus placements. Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Likes

Many clubs available from Toastmasters to Campus Life, Our club Toastmasters is one of the peak highlights of our college. We regularly go to corporates to attend meetings of their clubs and network a lot.
Love the Research setup of our college. Has more than 15 COEs present. ABB research centre is the best among them
The bring in a lot of industry professionals every. One or the other event always keeps happening.

Dislikes

Campus is not very huge since it's in the centre of the city but the outside shops make up for this

Likes

The library is really Awesome in every aspect.
The facilities and labs and everything needed for studies is way above the bar. Great university to actually study and research.

Dislikes

No culturals, and if there is some only secular songs
Strict rules (needed, but some are too strict)

Placement Experience:

From the sixth semester the student are eligible for placements and prominent companies such as bicon, lifecell, zoho, Thermofisher, lmt mindtree, jubilant food works, siemens, bioartha and around 2030 offers has been made os of april 2026 for my batch. the percentage of students getting placed is over 95 percent as the rest of the students have opted for higher studies like me. i plan on doing my masters abroad.

I applied to SRMIT in Katankulathur, but I chose to join Karunya as it was a fully residential college. SRM College was very far from my place, and I would have to travel a long distance every day. I am not comfortable with long-distance travel on a daily basis. i got admission into SRMIT. I found that Karunya is equally versatile as SRMIT. So I chose Karunya University over SRMIT. In Karunya the minimum expexpected 12 th percdentage was 60%. i had to clear the entrance exam also in order to get the admission into the coursde....Read More

Where Theory Meets Lab: My Biotechnology Journey at Karunya

i did not apply to any other colleges because genetic engineering was my dream and karunya was the only college providing such course for affordable and regular fee type. I chose this college over any other college because the research hub in my college is so vast and the collaborations with all the high research heads in India had me hooked up fo this course. I did not recieve rejection from any other college as karunya was my one and only option. The admission process was so neat and simple as they have a admission faculties for the specific specilization you are applying to and the process is too simple and easy. eligibility is 12th grade pass out batch and karunya has entrance exams for btech/bsc admissions called the KEE and for management courses there is KMAT where you write and exam and avail scholarships from the scores you obtained. There is no cutoffs requirement for the admission as the process is simple and is guided by the admission staff....Read More
