Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for the MSW course is really vast. There is a lot of field work involved. It is a 2 year 4 semester course and subjects like Civil Society and NGO studies, Social Defense and Correctional Service etc. are covered. The electives are Community Development, Community health and Social Service.
Placement Experience
The college has a very active Placement and Career Development Cell, and they actively have many different placement drives in the college. The students get placed in many significant NGO's and international firms like Wild life society of Orissa, Gram Swaraj (NGOs), Baripada etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees per academic year for the MSW course is Rs. 21,485 for General category and Rs. 16,485 for those with reservations. This includes the tuition fees, athletics fees, Development Fees, and all other miscellaneous fees.
Campus Life
The university organizes several different sports and cultural events in the college. The college has really good and well equipped sports courts for Basketball, football etc. The people in the college are quite open minded.
Admission
The admission process is quite easy, you have to go to the website of the college and fill the registration form of the college and pay the registration fee of Rs. 500. Take a copy of the form as well, since you have to submit it to the invigilator during the entrance exam.
Faculty
The faculty for the Social Work department of NOU is very good. The professors all have many years experience in the field and they are all very good teachers. The HOD of the Social Work department is Dr. Praharaj Dillip Mishra.
