Remarks

Great management. Well organized and disciplined. Any misbehavior is treated seriously.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT JEE Toughest entrance exam for engineering. Took in 2003 and got a rank around 1000 and made it to IIT Chennai Electrical Engg (Dual Degree).

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Electrical and Electronics are combined here. More of Electronics subjects. First year is common across all the branches with 1 or 2 courses from the branch. Minor Degree is there in the last 2 years which is based on choice. 4 courses are there here.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided in summer for outside college students. Not sure of the stipend but it will be there.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are great. Starts in the month of December and goes on in 2 phases. Most of the students are placed by month end. Remaining are placed in the jan - march, wherein few companies come. Most of the students get placed in first 2 phases in december.

College Events

5

Technical festival Shaastra is celebrated in October and is for 4 days. Has participation from various colleges. Cultural Festival Saarang is celbrated in January and is for 5 days with events ranging from Karnatic music to dance and drama. Nice time to enjoy.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was around 19000 per semester in 2004. Has increased considerably now. Scholarships are there for economically backward students. Education loan is available. Fees is feasible as we can pay back once we have a job. That should not be a point to think over here.

Fees and Financial Aid

Sholarships are available for the economically weak students. Loan facility is available with a bank in the campus.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was awesome. Only bicycles were allowed for students. The greenery was great and biodiversity was good. Lots of extracurricular activites were available. Every week we have a movie played at open air theatre and talks from eminent personalities were conducted regularly.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities were good with individual rooms for each student. Each hostel had a play ground wherein we could play football or cricket or volleball. Common stadium with running track and olympic size swimming pool and gym were great. Canteen food was ok.

Alumni/Alumna

Very helpful. We get regular newsletters and updates. Have an alumni website with login. Even updates on facebook are regular so we are always in touch.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted 3 times. First 2 carry 40% and the last one carries 60%. Assignments are given at times and carry marks. Days are hectic towards the end of semester as the competition is high. Labs have their own exams at the end. Lab work carries marks for few labs.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is good with quite a few being alumni of the college. Teaching standards are good and curriculum is updated. Few courses in other departments like maths and physics were good. Dual degree students have one project in their final year. They are with B.Tech students for 3 years and then with M.Tech students.

Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.
