Gargi College, B.Sc {Hons.}, Botany

Reviewed on Aug 4, 2020

Remarks

Gargi is one of the most reputed college of Delhi University and their botany department of one of the best in DU. It's an all girls institution and the power that's within the walls of Gargi is just so empowering.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose botany because I'm always fascinated about plants and other microbes. The curriculum is upto the mark and the faculty is amazing, some of the teachers are easy to helpful and will go out of their comfort zone to make you understand the course

Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunities are quiet okay in Gargi. Many companies visits and hire the people they want but the placement opportunities are more open in courses like Maths , English or economic hons

College Events

4.5

Gargi holds 2 biggest feats of DU which are reverie and zistatva. The extracurricular activities are many, there are plenty of societies which you can and join which will help you to get an exposure.

Campus Life

Infrastructure of Gargi is quiet okay but the washrooms are not hygienic at all. There is no network connection around Gargi. Library is amazing and have all the books you'll need so you don't need to buy them.

My experience studying at NSIT

Likes

Placement was among the best and most the top companies visited
Infrastructure was appreciable with no major shortage of laboratories
Senior-Junior interaction compensated the average faculty

Dislikes

Outdated curriculum negatively impacted the conceptual clarity
Too difficult to secure good grades due to strict marking
Mediocre support provided to student led initiative

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was evidently outdated and irrelevant to modern engineering challenges and could have severely disadvantaged students' learning outcomes. Although, interaction with seniors compensated this.

The companies coming for internships are great
The experienced faculty who came from IIMs
The experienced clubs and their guidance

Dislikes

There is bit of mismanagement experienced,
There is last minute information available at the end moment
Disclarity in information throughout the whole semester

Placement Experience:

It is okay and it is based on luck of the student more than hardwork. You also have to network super well to get into good dream companies. It is a good place to get it out of luck through ATS sysytem.

Honest review of ddu

Likes

The teaching faculty is really nice and polite. They usually help students even when u contact them after college hours.
The engagements and the quality of the social interactions in this college is also very good and very uplifting.
The quality of the infrastructure is very good compared to other colleges in du, considering its very new.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the thought of learning about the literature of the older times was pretty exciting to me while I was choosing the course. The curriculum however does prepares you if you want to continue ur academic journey in the English field.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is excellent. With the average package being 1500000. Many companies like, BCG, McKinsey, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and Credit Suisse come for placement. Almost all the students get placed. I plan to go for higher studies after the degree

Wonderful life experience that can't be forgotten.

Remarks:

Good Remark: The college environment made it possible for me to have great friends and be the person who I have become. The teachers and facilities of well-equipped labs, guest lectures, events, library, etc. made it possible for us to have a great campus life. Bad Remark: The college management needs to update the library norms that they have (which made it difficult for us to have books for the weekend to study) and also need to provide students with better placement opportunities from the same field as the specializations.
