Entrance Preview

The college is affiliated to GGSIP university and so I gave the entrance exam of GGSIP university. I got a rank around 3000 and I opted for Mechanical engineering coursed based on my interest in the mechanical field.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure was designed to cover the details topics and subjects and some of the subjects were really tough to understand. But with the help of our professors and recommended books I was able to get through them obviously with some good amount of hard work.

Internships Opportunities

No, unfortunately, the college does not provide any internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement of the college is one of its biggest selling point. The college has a very good placement rate. Usually the placement goes around 85% and a lot many reputed companies come for placements. For example Microsoft, Grape city, HCL, Kaene India, Accenture, Anand automotive, Tata Power, Samsung, Wipro, Infosys.

College Events

3

There used to be two events. One Cultural and one technical. The cultural fest used to include a lot many cultural activities and technical fest used to give us a platform to brush our technical skills. Also the freshers party which used to happen once a year for 1st year students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is quite feasible compared to the private colleges and universities as the university is semi-government. At my time the fee per year was 1 lakh only. Now it has been increased to 1.7 lakhs or so. So you can see I completed my B.tech in 4 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I do not know any such scholarship / loan facility offered by my college. I heard some students took education loan from banks but not from college.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life was not that happening due to very limited facilities available. But the education was good. The labs were also equipped with good apparatus and machines. Gender ratio was 65-35. We used to have many competitions like debate, robotics and many more.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is quite smooth. 1 exam in every 2 months and no breaks between the exams (excluding weekends). So usually we used to chill and start studying 1 week before every exam. In case of externals we started study 2 weeks before the exams.

Admission

The admission procedure was simple. I kept on visiting the university website for the counselling dates and I attended the counselling and was given some choices of colleges based on my rank. I opted for the best suited college there. A security amount was taken from me in the form of a DD and it was done. They assigned me a registration number and then I had to go to the college for my admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty was very helpful and had a deep knowledge of their respective subjects. They always helped us understand the tough topics and provided us guidance throughout. They also provided us a lot of notes which helped us prepare better for the exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
