Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is like any other B school, makes them develop a specific skill that shall help them in the job arena.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 25 per year

Internships Opportunities

XLRI offers placements on campus, and more than 70 companies visit campus and offer diverse roles in marketing, finance, operations, product management, and human resources. The average stipend of the internships is around 1.2 lacs/month.

Placement Experience

Students after Term 1 sit for summer internships. Companies like BCG, HUL, Amazon, JPMC, etc visit campus. XLRI has a record of 100 percent placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college are as much as a B school asks for taking into consideration the various accreditations XLRI has and the high-quality education it strives to provide. Apart from that, the average annual package of the institute is 20lacs/annum.

Campus Life

The Annual Fest of XLRI is called Ensemble Valhalla, Apart from that, there are 20-30 student-run committees that cater to various activities that happen in and around campus.

Interview Experience

GD topics were mostly related to general awareness and the environment and the teachers wished to check how well we were able to articulate our opinions. The PI tested us on our ability to maintain calm in stressful situations

Likes

Placements are quite good peers are usually from ranchi
Professors are quite good. They have dept knowledge ot the subjects which they are teaching
Pressure is quite low if you compare it with other b schools

Dislikes

Course curriculum can be made more pratical as it is quite theoretical in nature
Pratical exposure can be improved like more guest lectures and seminars

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students get eligible for placements. I guess around more than 50+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is always around 20+ lakhs and on average you can consider 12 lakhs while the lowest is 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed can be said around 95%. My plan is to get a good corporate job and work there as such no fancy plans.

Life at XLRI

Likes

Great campus life. Everyone gets single rooms, so theres privacy and flexibility to fo things at your own pace.
Engagement activities in terms of fests, committees on campus. Everyone gets a chance to participate in varius events catering to their likes and dislikes.
The professors really lean into technologically advanced teaching resources abd methods usings google classrooms and teams classrooms. This streamlined the deadlines, required assignments and upcoming quizzes

Dislikes

A certain lack of transparency regarding the placements policies and process.
The hunger for more students and contant construction on campus. All free and green spaces are used for more rooms constructed which just deteriorates the quality of life there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The HR course was quite comprehensive. Lots of subjects were dedicated to different functionalities of HR. Lots of focus on Law, and employee benefits, worker rights and employer responsibility. The course boasts of some of the stalwarts of the industry teaching different courses such as the Professor who teaches compensation is responsible for designing the compensation structure over at HUL. It's very comprehensive, and periodically reviewed to remain relevant to the changing times

The professor's are amazing and always ready to help.
The infrastructure is very beautiful and charming.
The course curriculum is up to date so it helps in several areas.

Dislikes

For me i think IMS is best and yes of course you should surely enroll here.

Placement Experience:

There are many companies that visit IMS and pick students by taking exams and interviews. Some of them include Accenture, Capgemini, tcs, etc. These multinational companies visit and you can take your chance by qualifying exam and interview. In short, there is full placement in IMS and you will surely be settled after your course.

Admission:

The admission was done on the basis of the CAT entrance exam. I applied for the admission online and after my application was shortlisted, I took the written test conducted by the college which was followed by the group discussion and personal interview.

A review on my college

Remarks:

The infrastructure of our college is very good. The campus life was great too, we have a good library updated to a digital library, labs, counseling center, ATM, etc. The film society used to run film shows at the weekend which was awesome.

Remarks:

The college and campus were built on strong fundamentals that each and every student is important even though they are passed out they would still remain a member of the institute. Life at XLRI

The admission process was very smooth. I sat for XAT and scored around 90 percentile with my lowest sectional percentile in DM at 73 percentile which just crossed the sectional cutoff of 72 percentile. I got an interview call which I had to select the slot for. Once selected, and online meeting was scheduled, and on the day of the interview I had 3 panelists (all male). The interview lasted for about 20 mins with questions spanning from why MBA to hobbies, interests and some technical questions based on past work ex. Once the interviews concluded the results were announced under 2 months and I was wait listed. XAT was in some ways a tough exam to crack, especially the DM section. XLRI HRM - In and Out

The eligibility is graduation in any stream. The admission process is available on the college website. You have to score good percentile in XAT exam so that you can get a call for the interviews and then, if your interview is good, you can convert your call and secure admission. Now they have started GD PI also, and interview process is no more virtual. The application fees is somewhere between Rs 2500/- and Rs 3000/-. The XAT exam is very similar to CAT and it tests you on your verbal ability, decision making and quantitative aptitude. My experience at XLRI Jamshedpur

XLRI takes admission through the XAT examination followed by a GDPI. The overall cutoff for XAT is roughly around 95 percentile. This cutoff is the minimum eligibility for qualifying for the GDPI. The application fee is around 2000 INR and the form generally opens from June-July until the first week of December and the exam is held in the first week of January.
