Remarks

To quote explicitly I say its a bit far away from the city where we loose much precious time in commuting. Apart from that nothing else.

Entrance Preview

I have attempted GAT (GITAM Admission Test) in 2012. I scored 9707 Rank. From our time only the college was very reputed one, and that too with a limited number of Seats. I tried to get admission into GITAM Vishakapatnam Branch. But even in second counselling also I didn't got a Seat at Vishakapatnam Branch for Civil Engineering. I'm a Non Circuit Guy, so I preferred to go only with Mechanical or Civil. At last I finally ended as Student of GITAM University Hyderabad, Civil Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course curriculum is robust. Yes its industry ready. In the Last 2 semesters (7th and 8th Semester) you will be having options to choose the subjects of your preference. And also Inter-Departmental electives. But I don't feel the Civil Engineering infra here supports you for any Research. But other departments are comparatively well established.

Internships Opportunities

Well, our college doesn't provide any Research Internship per say for any students as i preciously mentioned that infra is not that developed to support Research. But I got Internship at the Construction wing of the University.

Placement Experience

3.5

Frankly speaking, There will be hardly any in house placements or campus placements for the Civil or Mechanical Engineers. But yes the Training & Placements Dept tries a lot to bring in the Industry. Other dept students have got ample chances, but this was not the case with civil or mechanical.

College Events

5

Pramana, the Big, Pomp and Grandeur Event held at the University. EWB WEEK - An NGO Fundraiser Event Series, Lavz-o-Philia- Cultural Fest. Moreover some or the other events, seminars, conferences, workshops, Rock Bands, etc would be going day in and day out. Where I Myself was the President of the Student Chapter there.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its a bit above the Aam-Aadmi's Pocket. But the quality of education, infra, facilities and robust outlook it generates will compensate the money spent. We paid 1,54,000 per annum(Only College Fee, and does not include Hostel Stay) and I got the info that right now it is running around 2,10,000 per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, if you are in Top 10 of the department, you will be getting a scholarship of 10,000 per semester (I'm not sure of the exact number - Because I never got it as I'm a son of a Government Employee - And yeah they wont offer it for a Govt Employee's Wards). Apart from that at the time of admission you will get all assistance if you wanted a education loan.

Campus Life

3.5

I can proudly say, at last my College Days ended as a Beautiful Happy Days. The Rich and Diverse culture here offers the students a plethora of options to explore their interests in various streams, be it sports, team activities, debates, organizing things, literary and arts and what not !! If you can pin point your requirements, the university will be at the back of you assisting to excel.

Hostel Facilities

5

The best part of the entire University is its dedicated team of hostels. The way it is maintained, the rich, nutritious, quality and hygienic food they serve is awesome. No one can find such a place of stay with all those facilities for that price. The Mess Bill will come around 5,500-6,500 Every month. Which includes everything (Room Rent, Food, Maintenance etc).

Alumni/Alumna

This is a small infant which started growing slowly. Most recently 7th convocation was held. So the alumni network is not that strong but its growing gradually.

Exam Structure

The Exam Structure is a Simple and Easy one. 3 Internal exams will be conducted and 1 External Exam. Best of 2 would be chosen from 3 exams. Grading pattern is 10 Point CGPA. The Question paper would consists of long answers and very short answer type questions. The Best Part is the paper would be more on Application part rather than Derivation Part.

Faculty

3.5

During our times, we got very good faculty. But as I entered 4th Year, we faced a steep decline of the number of faculty for our Branch. The reason being the Civil Engineering Technical persons are being demanded more in Industry that in Academia. But the faculty who are present are of good intellect and capable of providing good knowledge to the students. Although some exceptions will be there in any college for that matter.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is relevant because we are not just studying theory all the time. Along with regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects and problem solving which actually feels useful. It feels like the course is designed to help us build skills that we will need later not just clear semester exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

Before joining I thought it would be like any other engineering college where we just study for exams. But after coming here, I felt it's a bit different. We do have theory classes, but there are also coding sessions, projects and assignments almost every week. Sometimes it gets a little hectic but I think it's actually helping us learn better. The syllabus feels relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has been a nice mix of theory and practical work. We don't just sit through lectures all day there are coding sessions, projects, assignments, and hands on activities that make the subjects easier to understand. It feels like you are learning skills that you'll use later. One thing I noticed after joining is that the classes don't feel the same every day. Some days are regular lectures while on others we are working on coding problems, assignments or small projects. That change keeps things interesting.

Placement Experience:

I think IN-campus Placements are the best thing that this college may offer. This is one of the top college in Telangana so almost every top company gives a chance to this college companies like Cisco, Insfosys, TCS, Cognizent, Accenture and many more. The highest package is 34LPA last year 2024, and the average is 7LPA i think.I think almost 60 to 70 percentage of people get place in the companies.I plan to get place in the top most comnmpany in the Telanagana after getting degree.
