Remarks
It's among one of the best technical institutes of the state. Being a government institution, the fees is also normal as per what is required in engineering. With popularly known engineering branches, it also provides various other lesser known branches. Faculty is really good, very experienced and enthusiastic.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is good, doesn't seems much updated, but it is good. The faculty is highly experienced that we students cannot even judge them. Some of the professers are like all rounders, a know-it-all kind of person. Everyone is really dedicated to teaching. Industrial exposure is limited but slightly better than other colleges.
Placement Experience
Companies like wipro, tcs, infosys etc come for placements. Average package is 3-4 lpa. One student bagged a package of 12lpa, so the students have to be skilled enough to get the best package. Placement cell works really hard to get the best recruiters and helps in getting the students placed. College works towards students skill development. It has conducted the aptitude classes for placement, the amcat mock tests and various other activities to increase placement.
College Events
Campus life is really good if you are participating. The annual technical fest THAR is held annually and is very big as compared to other state level colleges. The cultural fest ANUKRITI is equally big. The participation for college students in any event is free of cost and other college students have to pay the charges. The students manage events in these fests. Our college held the ATVC for two years which has not been held in any other college in Rajasthan or even in India maybe, I dont remember. Extracurricular activities include various workshops and events that are held anytime during the semester. Workshops also develop a student's industry skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loan facilities are available. Highest scoring students some reward amount. Sc/St scholarships are available that make a GFS student's fees about 0. Obc scholarships are hard to find. No scholarships for general students as I can remember. Normally two seat categories are there, SFS where the student has an annual college fee of 70k and GFS where student's fee is 30k.
Campus Life
Campus is really big, atleast the land is bigger than that of MNIT jaipur. The land is being used as and whenever the administration gets the funds to do constructions. Each branch has its own separate buildings of two floors each. The classrooms can accomodate about 120+ students each. Library has a large collection of books, for each branch. You may study in the library whole day long. Equipment in labs are okay, not brand new. Physics lab had 90% of the equipments working, while chemistry lab had some leaky burettes. Other are getting new equipments as the quota allows. Wifi is good and available whole day around campus. Hostels does not have a proper working wi-fi. Gymnasium is open till 8, having badminton court, tennis court, and gym equipments inside.
Hostel Facilities
The old first year hostel is under maintenance right now. The new 1st year hostel is totally awesome. The rooms are really good accomodating two students in each room. The first year hostel has 4 floors with accessible terrace, + shaped wings with bathrooms shared between 6 rooms. No private bathroom are available in any room or hostel. The hostel consists of halls for meeting on each floor, TV is provided. Hostel mess is just okay, not good as compared to senior hostels. Senior hostels are located separately from the first year hostels. These have L shaped wings consisting of 10 rooms each. Senior hostels have a capacity of about 100 whereas first year capacity was about 200. Senior hostels have the same facilities, but have just two floors. Each hostel has a separate mess and the menu can be changed every 3 months. Wifi does not works properly and is accessible to a few rooms. Basketball court is available in hostel area, so that students can play in the night also. Also in the name of night canteen, a 'thela' is available which sells maggie, tea, biscuits and wafers at night upto 1 AM. But it will be improved with time and allocated funds.
Admission
Entrance was through REAP based on JEE marks as well as 12th percentage. First, the students were admitted with JEE marks and then the students who chose 12th marks for selection process were considered. There were three rounds of college allotment. I took JEE in 2018 with 100 marks and got this college in 2nd round upgradation.
