Remarks

The college is awesome. I would not put it as a bad remark, but just a request to the management. As much as curriculum is important, there could be sessions and educational programs conducted to bring awareness about social evils. Sexual education and counselling should be provided to students. The students should be taught how to lead a healthy life with self confidence.

Entrance Preview

Well, My admission was in the year 2005 and at that time we had an entrance exam conducted by Tamil Nadu Government for Engineering aspirants TNPSCE.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The first year curriculum includes the basics from all branches of engineering - Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Mechanical, IT. From second year, the course focuses on the branch of study selected by the student. The curriculum was good and focused.

Internships Opportunities

There is no internship provided by the college to my knowledge. Currently the college has acquired deemed status. I am not sure if they are providing any internship programs currently.

Placement Experience

4

The placements were good in my batch, though my seniors struggled a little due to recession. Cognizant, Wipro and Infosys are the major giants. TCS and many other core companies also conducted on campus placements. There was a placement cell which trained all the students in aptitude tests and spoken English and group discussion.

College Events

4

Technical events such as seminars are frequently conducted. Every month, there will be at least one seminar where guests from various streams are invited and latest technologies and advancements are discussed cultural activities and Sports activities are conducted for many functions . Annual Day and Founders day are celebrated with much enthusiasm, there will in-house exhibitions and fairs conducted. Alumni meet and Sports Day are also conducted every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Semester Fees - 45000, Hostel Fees - 30000, Mess fees - 1500 approx every month, Other miscellaneous - 3000 approx every month. Study materials and uniforms are excluded.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarship for the toppers of each department. Educational loan is also supported. My best friend is a topper and an athlete also. She got almost 80% of the fees refunded in scholarship.

Campus Life

5

The campus life was awesome. Each department has a separate building. The infrastructure is too good. Generally boys are more than girls in most of the departments except for IT and Computer where the the ratio is almost equal. Extracurricular and co curricular activities are very much encouraged. We have Cultural Day, Debates, Sports Day, In House Exhibition, Seminars, Alumni meets, Annual Day, Founders Day, Hostel Days, name an activity and its available.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are well maintained. First years are accommodated in a separate hostel and all the other students in another hostel to avoid ragging. Common toilets are provided. The toilets are well maintained and cleaned regularly. NRI hostel is separate. The food and facilities are good. Though u get tired of the regular schedule in menu, u will have student representatives who will discuss the menu every now and then and change if needed. Hostel Day is conducted once in a year and celebrated with josh.

Alumni/Alumna

Every year we will be able to meet the alum in the alumni meet and discuss our career opportunities. Seniors are also very friendly and helpful. We can check and contact them for any help whenever required.

Exam Structure

The semesters are common for all the students. The other tests varies in each department. As far as , Electrical is considered, we had 4 unit tests conducted in an interval of 3 to 4 weeks out of which best of three will be considered for internal marks. Apart from this, 4 weeks before the semester, we will have 3 full revision tests and one week of study holiday before the semester.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty were very knowledgeable and friendly. They were encouraging overall. It was a little strict but when it came to academics, everyone helped. The faculty guided us in final year projects and placement and extra curricular and co-curricular activities.
