Remarks
BHU is a reputed university and is known for its education worldwide. I had applied for other universities as well, but what made me inclined towards BHU is its alumni. The alumni list is great here. The alumni range from great scientists to famous poets. The wide range of alumni made me feel happy and confident. BHU environment is very peaceful to study. We had a national online entrance test for a month which varies from April to May. I preferred the university website to know the dates and applied for my form.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Sociology which is a subject under the Faculty of Social Science. The honors subject is given rank-wise. The course curriculum is extensive and enriching. We have 8 papers for the first two years in B.A. Degree. For the final year, only honors subject one has to study and the paper varies for each honor. The exams are offline mode. The end-term exams are of 70 marks and the mid-term exams are of 30 marks. The exams are conducted within a fixed period of dates announced. The exams are moderate. They are neither easy nor difficult. One has to study because, in recent years, the question pattern has not been repeated much. The faculty members are good. One would find a mixed range of faculties ranging from friendly to not so friendly. All the faculty members are doctorate mostly. Faculty members are very reputed here because of their book publications and many societies and association member. The student-teacher ratio is good. There are many teachers for a subject so it gets managed.
Placement Experience
I am from Social Science Background. So placement comes during the final year of our course. The placement is not high as compared to the placement of IIT BHU, MBA faculty. But students are free to intern under any legit organization. The students with better grades, better experience of an internship, and good speaking skills get placed. My plan after getting a degree is to continue masters degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost is from 3000 to 6000 for B.A. courses of a regular seat. The cost varies from practical subjects to theory-based subjects. The paid seat fees are a bit higher. One can avail the UP Government scholarship to study here who are from UP. The campus has earned a while learninging scheme for poor students for their financial help.
Campus Life
The main fest of BHU is Spandan. Spandan is a fest where one showcases his or her talent and gets selected to perform on behalf of their faculty and institutes. Other fests of BHU are from IIT BHU and Institute of Medical Science, BHU.
