XIMB- a review

XIMB has a legacy of over 33 years, being among the topmost B-schools in the country, it provides an environment for holistic learning and development. Admission in XIMB can be taken on basis of CAT, XAT, GMAT, and XGMT scores. The scores for admission in these exams should be in the range of 90 percentile or above. The main reason for choosing XIMB was the fact that it has constantly ranked amongst the top 20 colleges in the country, another lucrative aspect of joining XIMB is the fact that it is frequented by top recruiters from the industry and offers an average package of around 15 lakhs. I learned about XIMB from my cousin who is an alum of this college.

The business management course at XIMB offers a holistic development in terms of academic and extracurricular aspects. A student can choose multiple majors and minors in the second year of education in the domains of Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Systems. There are around 40 faculties for 720 students. More than 90% of faculties are PhD in their respective domains. The method of teaching varies from faculty to faculty, and the main focus is on making sure whatever is being taught is industry-relevant. There are 3 terms in a year and the exam are difficult to pass unless you have a thorough knowledge of the subject

The roles are offered in finance, marketing, consulting, product management, and sales domain. The average stipend stands around 70,000 rupees. The project outcome varies from company to company. For a sales role, you might be expected to boost the sales of the company by bringing in new customers, or you might be asked to do market research.

The students are eligible for placement from the 4th semester onwards. XIMB achieves 100% placement every year For the batch passed out in the year 2020, the highest package was 58 lakhs and profiles were offered in Marketing, finance, operations, systems, and consulting domain I plan to work for few years after getting the degree and then start my own business

The fees for 2 years of MBA - Business Management course at XIMB stand around 22 Lakhs. There are options to pay the fees in either 2 installments or 4 installments each divided equally. the fees of mess and hostel are separate from course fees; no scholarship is provided by the institute.

The annual fest is called Xpressions. The library is equipped with the latest and high-tech facilities like Bloomberg terminal and various other data libraries. The classrooms are equipped with projectors, a computer and seats are in parliament style. The college has dedicated committees for sports and extracurricular activities. All the college activities are entirely run by students, there are 19 committees in the college to take care of different verticals. the core among them being Career Advisory Services, IlluminatiX- the media and PR cell of XIMB, the Alumni committee, and International relations committee

The room has a geyser, attached bathroom, fans, and cupboards The meals are tasty and healthy with the mess committee overseeing the food services The registration process for a hostel is easy, opting for a hostel is mandatory for every student and the hostel fees is quite affordable

During the admission process, the GD topic for me was "Should companies consider providing a 4-day work week", the Written ability test was based on an abstract topic, the topic was the word "K". The process for admission starts by filling the form for interest in admission at XIMB. XIMB accepts CAT,XAT, GMAT & XGMT scores. You need to score a minimum of 55% in graduation to be eligible for admission in XIMB. There is weightage given to your work experience during the admission process however, the weightage is not revealed to students.
