one thing that every student takes into consideration while selecting a college is its campus and JDMC has one of the most beautiful campuses all over DU. Also, the admission process there was very smooth, the staff was very supportive. During your admission, they will make you fill Anti ragging form as well and during the entire admission process, only this part will take time otherwise the rest of the process will be very quick.
I chose B.com.(Hons.) because I am pursuing Chartered Accountancy as well and subjects are somewhat similar in this course. Talking about the faculty and staff of the college, I can assure you that JDMC has a great team of a teacher who is highly qualified, teachers are friendly and are good advisors as well. For every subject, there are at least 3-4 teachers. Internals are held quite often along with assignments.
JDMC has its own placement cell, through which companies interact with our students. They continuously come up with internship opportunities be it summer internship or regular college internship. Placement packages depend upon the course, so for b.com.(Hons.), the college offers an average package of around 3.5 lakhs through campus placement
The fees structure of JDMC is quite reasonable. It is around 12000(approx.) for 1st years, 15000(approx) for 2nd years, and 22200(approx) for the third year, fees of 2nd and 3rd year is inclusive of exam form fees. Every year JDMC announces a number of scholarships, There are around 36 prices and scholarships that it announces every year.
JDMC has always been upfront regarding co-curricular activities. It is one of the colleges which has the largest number of societies all around DU. Every year the college union of JDMC organizes its annual fest called SYMPHONY in the month of January. During the last Symphony Jass Manak was invited to do a concert on the last day of this fest, even before that many singers like Aditi Singh Sharma, Guru Randhawa came to the college fest to spread their magic through a concert. Each department in Jdmc has its own union, we have drama society - ANUBHUTI, dance society-NRITYA, music society, finance cell. career opportunity cell and a lot more societies in college. Also, the library of the college is amazing, it has a lot of books and a separate area in the library to use laptops as well. JDMC has it's own Instagram and Facebook page as well.
Third-year students can apply for placements whereas first and second-year ones can apply for internships. Around 25-30 companies visited our college for internships and 90% of the students get placed. Many of them are paid internships also. The highest package from our college is around 8-10 lpa. I will pursue MBA after graduation and our college also provides CAT coaching at very reasonable rates.
Placements for this course is not that great but it is improving every year. Last year Samsung and Kotak Mahindra Bank have visited the campus and recruited students at some handsome package of around 3-4 lakhs PA. But the company is very tough as nearly all the students want to be placed in their final year.
THE PLACEMENT CELL looks for internships for all years students and jobs for final years. Firstly, they analyze the need and interests of the students in which field they want to go for. After that, they start pitching companies for the same. In the month of February, INTERNSHIP FAIR was held every year where 50-60 companies( KVCH, TIMES OF INDIA, SHAREKHAN) came who offer internships to students. The stipend varies from company to company i.e. Rs.5000-15000. I have also given many interviews and selected for various internships. I have also worked in a placement cell and it was a great learning experience. In my first year, I have done an internship in KIND BEINGS. Placements are provided to final year students and profiles offered are marketing, HR, finance, etc. The average package is Rs.3 lakhs. The highest package offered was Rs.6.5 lakhs. Around 70% of the students get placements in different companies every year. I have planned to do MBA further.
Students from the first year itself can avail themselves of internship opportunities and for campus placements only final year students are eligible. The placement cell of PGDAV college is very active and keeps students updated with good career opportunities. Top corporate companies like EY, deloitte, wipro etc. Visited for campus placements. Number of offers and packages offered by these companies are fluctuating every year and can be accessible on college website. Not every student sit for placements so percentage of students getting placement could be lower. Profiles offered by the companies visited were not good enough except for some companies like EY. Not every student placed with good package, profile and company. But you can easily get job offer slightly lower than your expectations. I got some jobs offers from campus but I prefer to try for a job from outside after graduation and I got so.
Students are eligible for placements at starting of the final year Many companies come and create opportunities for eligible students to join them after clearing their recruitment process. The highest package goes around 600000 and average remains at 300000 for students which are good for Freshers. I m focusing on government jobs after getting a degree because I want a government job.
Students become eligible for campus placements after the 5the semester. The highest package a company had ever made is 15lakh per annum. Mostly 70% of the students get the placement every year. My plan is to do my own business after the degree
For better exposure and want to learn more about the corporate world plus I was fascinated by different kind of programmes and competitions being held in DU time to time.We get a chance to show our skills up and many more.
