Take a moment and search CHRO of any major company. There is a shockingly amazing chance that they'll be from XLRI. Now repeat this for as many companies as you want and you'll see the strength of XL mafia: alumni network. XLRI is one of the best management institutes and the undisputed leader in the labour education industry. The fees may seem like a lot but the placements thereafter justify it and the ROI is good.

HRM deals with the most dynamic resource: Manpower. While everything can be predicted, it is difficult to predict this resource. XLRI boasts of a network of distinguished faculty in this area and the student to faculty ratio is great. Education Infrastructure is also something that is appreciable. Term exams are regular and the course outline in the beginning intimates the exact structure. If one listens to the classes, it is not difficult to pass.

All the major companies from FMCG, Consulting, Banking, IT, etc. like Amazon, Microsoft, HUL, BCG, Bain, P&G, etc hire from XLRI for summer internship placements. Roles offered to HR students include strategy, general management, and core HR roles like HRBP.

Placements are undoubtedly great. All the major companies hire from XLRI. Summer Internships are a great way to start a corporate career and that time is the most intense time as everyone vies for a PPO. They also have lateral and campus recruitment later in January to February, for which only second-year students are eligible. Placements have been 100% historically. "XL aaye ho to place to ho hi jaoge" is alout mantra. The average is around 25 lakhs. Companies like BCG, BAIN, AMAZON, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, etc. hire every year.

Scholarships are ample and the dean herself mails of the available opportunities. Fees are high but as compared to the other institutes it is justified. The placements thereafter also justify the fees so ROI is good.

Ensemble Valhalla is the annual fest of XLRI. The campus life is the best that one can experience. This year, owing to Covid, the fest took place in March but is normally held during November. Sports infrastructure is amazing. The campus is always alive. Library is extensive and comfortable and there is rarely any book you will not find here. Classrooms are equipped with the latest Infrastructure. One will always find something or the other to do on campus and there is nothing that one would not find here.

Single occupancy, multiple washrooms, regularly cleaned throughout the day, basically everything is comfortable. One con is the absence of air conditioning in the rooms. The rooms are huge. The mess is one of the best among colleges. They care for students. Every room is equipped with a bed, cupboard, table, mirror, curtains, and a big shelf.

GD topic related to the workplace. A scenario was given and we had to debate on the same. Interview questions mostly related to my views on certain labor-related issues: like the introduction of labor codes, and my learnings from whatever I had done during my undergrad. There was also a Written Abokity Test following the GD, on the same topic as the GD. I focused on reading the newspaper everyday and kept myself updated with the recent labor news.
