Remarks

XLRI is a legacy, I have family members who have graduated from XLRI Jamshedpur. XLRI offers balanced learning of academics and industry. Professors here are the best in their domain. The campus albeit now conservative is still homely.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Professors are very reputable experts in their domain. The pedagogy varies for courses, but it ensures that students grasp whatever is being taught. The use of simulations and live projects builds a sense of confidence. XLRI has a healthy student to faculty ratio of 90 faculties for a batch of 720. Some exams are tough but not impossible to pass.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Yes. Good placements. Companies including Bain, BCG, Amazon, Accenture, among others. The average stipend is Rs 1.5 lakhs per month. Roles include HR, Prodman, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Consulting, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Placements have always been the best in the country and 100%. All top companies visit the campus. Placement support from college is also excellent. The package is best among the top B schools. Companies exceed the number of students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees at XLRI is a bit on the higher side at roughly 26 lacs for 2 years including mess and hostel fees, but the city of Jamshedpur is not very costly. There are various merit and need-based scholarships available for students

Campus Life

4

Campus life pre COVID was amazing. We had various regional committees hosting regional dinners, even faculties participate. Different committees on campus have a plethora of events. The classrooms are modern with charging and ports. The campus has wifi everywhere 24/7.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are very maintained, single accommodation for everything student. The mess is clean, food is okay, other facilities like the infirmary are provided. There is an ambulance in case of emergency. Jamshedpur city is clean.

Interview Experience

4

GD was based on India being a superpower and how we are lagging. The GD was in a panel of 7 people followed by the interview. The interview was based on my work experience and undergrad subjects - thermodynamics, etc.

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students get eligible for placements. I guess around more than 50+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is always around 20+ lakhs and on average you can consider 12 lakhs while the lowest is 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed can be said around 95%. My plan is to get a good corporate job and work there as such no fancy plans.

The HR course was quite comprehensive. Lots of subjects were dedicated to different functionalities of HR. Lots of focus on Law, and employee benefits, worker rights and employer responsibility. The course boasts of some of the stalwarts of the industry teaching different courses such as the Professor who teaches compensation is responsible for designing the compensation structure over at HUL. It's very comprehensive, and periodically reviewed to remain relevant to the changing times

Placement Experience:

There are many companies that visit IMS and pick students by taking exams and interviews. Some of them include Accenture, Capgemini, tcs, etc. These multinational companies visit and you can take your chance by qualifying exam and interview. In short, there is full placement in IMS and you will surely be settled after your course.
