Entrance Preview

As I am from Karnataka, I took CET exam in which I got 22k rank. As I was looking for mechanical stream so I listed all the college which are good at that field. I googled and listed around 20 colleges. So seat distribution started until my turn came I left with only 6 colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

As it was autonomous college the course curriculum is some what trimmed. It matched 80% of VTU syllabus. They have good electives like CFD, non traditional machining, internal combustion engine and lubrication.

Internships Opportunities

College never encouraged students for internship or mini projects. But I remember one lecture said how internship is important next day I decided to do an internship, which I did in vacation period. I don't think our college provide any internship. I guess this internship concept is weird to them. Even if they give permission but I highly doubt about stipend

Fee Structure And Facilities

As this mechanical branch is government aided and if you joined through CET you need to pay only 18,000 per year and but during joining you need to pay another 15,000 extra as college fee. That is one time fee. But for other non govt aided branches I guess fee was 36000. I don't know the exact figure.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you come in OBC or SC/ST category the scholarship college offered is 15000. They delayed the scholarship. In additional to that you can always apply for MOM scholarship and scholarship department help you whenever you approach.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus is big and good, you could easily find places to hang around with friends. I guess gender ratio is around 1:0.75.

Alumni/Alumna

No, there is no alumni for mechanical, but civil branch does. College seniors are not helpfull at all, everyone is busy with their works. Even when we were seniors we never tried to help our juniors.

Exam Structure

Even though we needed to pay 900 bucks, the way they arranged exams are neat. I am talking about major exam. But coming to internals they are average. some time students suffered because they changed the room and didn't informed the students. Coming to the lab. they were decent but the instructors were very traditional and they could improve a lot in this field.

Faculty

2

The main problem with this college is faculty. Not generalizing there are few very good lecturers but others are shit. They didn't speak English properly, all they cared about is assignments record submission and many not so important things.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
