Entrance Preview

I was selected for BFIA in the Sukhdev college of business studies. However, I had scored 89.50% in XII. I got in Hansraj in the second list and had to transfer from Hindu where I had got in the first list. But Hansraj college is way above Hindu in Commerce.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is standard as prescribed but the additional effort made by the teachers makes it worthwhile for students and is the differentiating factor. Further, the internals had also been started which added to the overall structure. Also, I understand that the course has been further improved to include practicals and summer training which is mandatory.

Internships Opportunities

Their were placement cell which used to help in organising the placement fair. But since the internship was not relevant at my time, there was no such requirement. There were a number of companies that used to come including EY, Delloitte, etc.

Placement Experience

5

Their were placement cell which used to help in organising the placement fair. It was an excellent experience as we were also involved to get the companies in our final year. There were a number of companies that used to come including EY, Delloitte, etc. The placement rate was generally good although a lot of people used to opt for higher studies.

College Events

4.5

We used to have one annual festival. These were fondly called annual fest. Apart from that there was a freshers party also. Our college was famous for the annual kavi sammellan that used to be held. Additionally, each society had its own festival. There were also sports activities that were their.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very economical and the annual fee used to be very nominal. There were no additional expenses that were there. We used to get subsidized books from the library which were fairly new. We were also entitled to other benefits like bus passes at nominal fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail of any loan or scholarship. I did not avail of any loan or scholarship.I did not avail of any loan or scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratios were evenly matched but normally girls seemed to be less. There was no concept of Dorm Parties. There were lot of workshops, cultural societies or Student programs. We were very tolerant with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. No clashes over ideology and every body was a cohesive unit.

Exam Structure

The system was annual examination with exams scheduled during April and may in the year. There were enough holidays in the exams and enough time to prepare for the same. There was no lab activity in commerce stream so that is not applicable. Otherwise it used to be pretty much relaxed.

Faculty

4.5

The teachers could be divided into 2 segments. One who were their to teach and one who were there to ensure that the students understand what they are supposed to be studying and why. Some teachers stood out and were very dear to the students. Their classes were generally full and no one missed the classes even if they were at 8:40 in the morning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.
